BNI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives represents an ongoing commitment which, driven by an ethical and social imperative to contribute to national development, continually grows,. They are also an expression of BNI’s appreciation for the communities in which it operates, and are aimed at improving the quality of life within the local community, and the nation as a whole.
The objectives of BNI’s CSR programs are as follows:
- To support community welfare and the improve the environment
- To support the implementation of transparent and responsible business practices
- To make a positive difference in the community, especially in areas where BNI operates
- To build a positive image of the Bank in the minds of the public, and to engage the support of the community for the Bank’s business objectives
- To enhance the Bank’s brand equity by developing its reputation
- To raise public awareness of BNI through its social initiatives
Propelled by the Bank’s vision and mission, as well as Ministry of State Owned Enterprises’ directive focused on community development (in accordance with No. SE-433/MBU/2003 dated 16 September 2003 concerning the Community Development Fund), BNI’s CSR programs are an active demonstration of the Bank’s desire to improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the community.
BNI’s CSR programs are carried out in accordance with the Bank’s business codes of conduct and the best practices in terms of Good Corporate Governance. These principles require that the organization fulfills all its obligations as a responsible corporate citizen, as well as implement in accordance with all prevailing regulations. These CSR programs, such as community development and social aid, are aimed at producing significant positive change, as well as improve the overall quality of human resources in Indonesia.
