Malang, 11 Marh 2017 --- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI keep on expanding and strengthening the effort to increase financial literacy in society which during this time gains less easy access to financial institutions, including banking services. This time, strengthening on the financial literacy is carried out by opening Agen46 or BNI branchless banking in Pujon tourism area, Malang, East Java.


The opening of Agen46 in Pujon Kidul, Malang was held on Saturday (11 March 2017). That occasion was attended by Minister of Social of the Republic of Indonesia, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and Vice President Director of BNI Suprajarto. Opening of 2 Agen46 BNI was held concurrently with the Launching event of Pujon Kidul Tourism Village, Malang Regency, East Java by Malang Regency Government.


The two Agen46 opened in Pujon Kidul are operated as Village Owned Enterprise (BUMdes), namely BUMdes Sumber Sejahtera and BUMdes Bersama Bagus. The signing of Memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding establishment of those two BUMdes to be Agen46 BNI was done simultaneously.


Suprajarto conveyed, that in the same MoU, BNI and those two BUMdes also agreed cooperation on distribution of People Business Credit (KUR) and Environment Development Program  aid from BNI. The Environment Development Aid given by BNI to the two BUMdes is as the effort to strengthen their business operation.


That is possible as The Environment Development Aid given by  BNI in the form of Laptop and printer and modem device, can be used to surf in cyberspace. This aid is handed over to BUMdes Bersama Bagus. While the aid for BUMdes Sumber Sejahtera is given in the form of lighting facilities and infrastructures so that it is expected to support the business development.


Agen46 opened in Pujon Kidul has added number of Agen46 operated by BNI. Until today, BNI has opened 40,000 Agen46 throughout Indonesia. Agen46 is a concrete step carried out by BNI in supporting the financial literacy improvement program in Indonesia which was initiated by Financial Service Authority (OJK) through Branchless Financial Service in the Framework of Inclusive Finance (Lakupandai).
