Yogyakarta, 27 June 2020 --- State-owned enterprises (SOEs) continue to support the Task Force of Covid-19 Handling Acceleration in uniting the power to withstand the spread of the corona virus outbreak in Indonesia. SOEs, as one of the strengths in the pentahelix circle, do not stop sharpening these efforts in various ways. One of them is conducting free swab tests in areas that are exposed to quite high outbreaks in Indonesia, such as those conducted by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI.

This time it was the turn of the people of Yogyakarta to get a free sweep test from BNI, at the Yard of the Central Air Force Hospital Dr. S Hardjolukito, on Saturday - Sunday, (27-28 June 2020). On this occasion, BNI cooperated with the network of Pertamina Bina Medika Hospital, JSK Group, and the Central Air Force Hospital Dr. S Hardjolukito to provide 1,100 free swabs.

This step is a part of the program to create SOEs that are free from corona virus, #CovidSafeBUMN, and one of the series of BNI Shares programs that provides 30,000 free swab tests for people throughout Indonesia. In addition, the granting of the test was also part of a series of BNI 74th birthday celebrations, which will fall on 5 July 2020.

The Director of Treasury and International of BNI, Putrama Wahju Setiawan said, “This is a continuation of our steps to help accelerate the detection of patients exposed to Covid-19 in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas. The Head of RSPAU Dr. S Hardjolukito, Air Commodore of the Indonesian National Military, Djunadi conveyed that this activity is one of the real contributions of RSPAU Dr. S Hardjolukito as the Covid-19 Referral Hospital & the Indonesian Airforce to help the government’s program in handling the spread of Covid-19 together with BNI.

"I am on behalf of the Head of RSPAU Dr. Suhardi Hardjolukito, Air Commodore of the Indonesian National Military, dr. The VP of Business Development & Portfolio of Pertamedika IHC, Pramadhya Bachtiar said, “This activity is the form of synergy of the companies under SOEs to support government in breaking the wider distribution chain of covid-19 in the Yogyakarta region. In the second time of our participation in BNI's CSR program, Pertamedika IHC fielded a medical team of 20 people consisting of 6 swabber (doctors), 6 assistant swabber nurses, 4 administrators, 2 people who helped with event equipment.”

Separately, the CEO of JSK Group, Dennis Jang Sang Kyu added, "To ensure safe and accurate testing facilities for the mass, we took the initiative to bring in testing equipment from Korea, namely PCR swab kits, pressurized medical tents, and testing booths that allow safe Covid-19 testing, both for medical personnel and patients, on an ongoing basis. We are happy to work together for this noble cause with RSPAU Dr. S Hardjolukito. There is a sense of joy that we experienced together with officers in the field in delivering this program to many cities."

Free swab testing is completed with epidemiological monitoring and case follow-up, in collaboration with Pertamina Bina Medika Hospital. The results will be reported directly to the patients through the cell phone numbers that were registered at the time of registration. Therefore, this is very confidential and is an important part in increasing the speed of handling corona positive cases.

With that experience, BNI has partnered with Pertamina Bina Medika Hospital to take swab test samples in several regions in Indonesia. It is hoped that, in addition to accelerating the breaking of the chain of spread of the virus, this can accelerate the recovery of productivity towards new normal.

During this pandemic, the CSR assistance that BNI provided was a corona outbreak emergency response aid in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE) to referral hospitals spread across DIY and 5,000 packages of basic necessities to the DIY community affected by Covid-19 worth a total of Rp 2 billion.

In this activity, it was seen the public interest in participating in the free swab test. The Covid-19 health protocol was implemented in this activity, from temperature checking and hand washing on participant arrival, initial registration, application of physical distancing in the queue seats, spraying disinfectant on site, to other operations to completion. The medical personnel who served the swab test also wore complete PPE.
