Collaborates with Indonesian Diaspora Companies in Hong Kong, Encouraging West Java MSMEs to Enter the Global Market

Bandung, 21 June 2022 -- The trend of global economic growth that strengthened again in 2022 and in line with the increasingly controlled global Covid-19 pandemic conditions, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk. or BNI (stock code: BBNI) continues to strengthen global capabilities in the next-normal era, one of which is through expansion of partnerships and capacity building for Export-Import-oriented MSME debtors.

Most recently, BNI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT. Forever Harvest Success, namely the representative of an Indonesian Diaspora Company in Hong Kong which is a wholesale supplier of 80 (eighty) partner retail stores in Hong Kong, namely Forever Harvest Co., Ltd.

The signing was carried out by BNI Leader of Region 04 Bandung Maya Agustina and the representative of Forever Harvest Co., Ltd Agus Mubarok and witnessed by BNI Treasury and International Director Henry Panjaitan in Bandung, Tuesday (21/6/2022).

The signing of this MoU was accompanied by a BNI Regional Trade Talk Series webinar at the Regional Office 04 Bandung with the theme “MSMEs Go Global: How to be an Excellent Exporter and Optimizing Global Market Opportunity”.

In this BNI Regional Trade Talk Series – Bandung Region, BNI presented expert speakers including the Head of the Compliance Guidance and Public Relations Section of West Java DJBC Regional Office, Fino Vianto, Head of West Java Industry and Trade Office, Iendra Sofyan.

There were also the ICC Indonesia Senior Advisor Haryadi Sarpini, the Expert in the Implementation of International Trade Agreement Results Ponirin Sugito, and the Representative of Forever Harvest Co., Ltd (an Indonesian Diaspora Company in Hong Kong). The resource person explained various strategies and tips for success for West Java SMEs in an effort to optimize business opportunities to penetrate the global market.

BNI Treasury and Internasional Director Henry Panjaitan conveyed that the Company is a government has obtained mandate for Go Global.

Various efforts to expand the market base are carried out to be able to provide added value to the national economy as well as MSME players who are the backbone of the economy.

Throughout January-May 2022, BNI has also managed to record excellent export transaction volume growth, with a year-on-year percentage increase of 30.62%.

According to Henry, the collaboration initiative with Forever Harvest Success is a strategic step to optimize the competitiveness of export-oriented MSME players, especially in West Java.

With this step, BNI hopes that MSME players will gain comprehensive insight and increase their business capacity and reach so that they can penetrate the global market share.

Through the BNI Regional Trade Talk Series event - Region 04 Bandung, Henry continued, BNI also collaborated with a number of relevant agencies in West Java to provide exposure and share experiences about finding business opportunities and becoming a reliable exporter.

"We facilitate export-oriented West Java MSME players to be able to meet and explore partnerships with PT. Forever Harvest Success, so it is hoped that in the future these MSME players can become supplier partners of Forever Harvest Co., Ltd and successfully penetrate the Hong Kong market." said Henry.

Henry continued, the development of strategic cooperation between BNI and PT. Forever Harvest Success is also expected to make a positive contribution to BNI's business volume growth through the utilization of financing products and services, cash management, trade finance, remittances, and other transactional banking products.

In addition, through a network of overseas BNI branches located in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, New York, Seoul and our newest branch in Amsterdam, BNI can facilitate business matchmaking between Indonesian exporters and potential buyers.

"In addition, BNI branches overseas can provide advisory services regarding market insight and local regulations related to custom and tax, and so on, as well as providing special financing schemes for Indonesian business actors starting from the Corporate, Medium, and Small scale so that they are able to penetrate the global market," added Henry.
