PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is fully committed to developing Human Resources (HR) as part of President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita program towards a Golden Indonesia 2045. One of the efforts made by BNI in the field of sports is by exploring the potential of young badminton athletes in the country.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo revealed that through sponsorship cooperation with the Central Board of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PP PBSI), BNI has encouraged the development of the achievements of Indonesian badminton athletes from upstream to downstream since 2021.
“BNI as a government-owned bank fully supports President Prabowo's Asta Cita program to jointly make Indonesia a country of achievement and dignity,” he said.
Okki explained, BNI's support for Indonesian badminton is realized through various concrete actions including through the search for potential early age athletes throughout Indonesia through the BNI National Circuit which is a national level competition.
BNI provides a Junior Athlete Achievement Development program through the BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championship 2024 tournament, wondr by BNI Indonesia International Challenge 2024 held in Indonesia.
“BNI provides full support to the organization of world-level badminton tournaments attended by young athletes from all parts of the world,” he said.
On the other hand, BNI together with PBSI runs a program to develop Indonesian athletes in the world through support for the Road to Olympic Paris 2024 Working Group, an adhoc team consisting of a team of coaches, mentors, physical trainers, a team of doctors, nutritionists, sports science and sports psychologists.
Okki said, BNI not only focuses on developing badminton sports, but also gives appreciation to outstanding athletes such as Jonatan Christie as the All England 2024 Men's Singles Category Champion and the Badminton Asia Championship 2024 Men's Singles Category Champion, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting as the All England 2024 Men's Singles Category Runner Up, Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Fajar Alfian as the All England 2024 Men's Doubles Category Champion, and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung as the Paris Olympics badminton bronze medalist.
“This appreciation is expected to provide an injection of enthusiasm for athletes so that they can continue to make proud achievements in the future,” concluded Okki.
