Indonesia Dominates the wondr by BNI International Challenge Podium, Developing Young Athletes Bears Sweet Fruit

Young Indonesian athletes once again demonstrated their dominance in the international arena. Two consecutive tournaments, the wondr by BNI International Challenge, held in Yogyakarta in November 2025, ended with a triumph for the Indonesian team. This achievement also underscores the effectiveness of the youth athlete development program by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), which receives full support from PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI).

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo emphasized that BNI's support represents a real commitment to strengthening the national sports ecosystem. "BNI hopes our presence can be a catalyst for the birth of more accomplished young athletes who can bring honor to Indonesia on the international stage," Okki said in a written statement.

The tournament, which featured participants from 12 countries, provided a platform for young Indonesian athletes to showcase their skills. At the wondr by BNI International Challenge I, held from November 11–16, 2025, Indonesia dominated, winning titles in four events.

In the mixed doubles sector, the pair of Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti successfully reached the top podium, followed by the victory of Muh Putra Erwiansyah/Daniel Edgar Marvino, who became champions in the men's doubles sector.

Indonesia's dominance was also evident in the women's singles sector through Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan's victory, as well as in the men's singles sector with Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo's outstanding performance. Meanwhile, the pair of Selsi Josika/Yasintha Ristyna Putri also added to Indonesia's positive record by finishing as runners-up in the women's doubles sector.

The medal and victory token presentation was held on November 16, 2025, by BNI Regional CEO 17 Ariyanto Soewondo Geni, Organizing Committee Chairman Armand Darmadji, and DIY PBSI Provincial Chairman K.P.H Yudonegoro.

Indonesia's success continued at the BNI International Challenge II (November 18–23, 2025). The pair of Bobby Setiabudi / Melati Daeva Oktavianti once again topped the mixed doubles podium, followed by Renaldi Samosir / Masita Mahmudin as runners-up. The men's doubles title was once again won by Indonesia through the duo of Ali Faathir Rayhan / Devin Artha Wahyudi.

The presentation of the trophy and medals for the second final tournament was also led by Ariyanto Soewondo Geni, together with Armand Darmadji and K.P.H Yudonegoro on November 23, 2025.

Okki further emphasized that this success is strong evidence that international-level competitions play a significant role in accelerating the development of young athletes.

"The dominance of young Indonesian athletes in these two consecutive tournaments proves that proper coaching, supported by international competition facilities, has a real impact on improving performance. This confirms that investing in young athlete development is a strategic step in maintaining the future glory of Indonesian badminton," said Okki.

With this string of successes, Indonesia is increasingly demonstrating its depth of talent in badminton. BNI's support for PBSI in providing a competitive arena and tiered coaching has proven to be a concrete contribution to the emergence of new stars ready to maintain Indonesia's dominance on the global stage.

The title win in Yogyakarta is proof that the future of Indonesian badminton lies in the hands of a well-trained young generation ready to fly the Indonesian flag in various international events.
