BNI Supports Danantara in Handing Over 600 Livable Houses After Disaster in Aceh Tamiang

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI participated in the handover of 600 Danantara Housing Units (huntara) in the first phase in Aceh Tamiang Regency. This handover is part of the accelerated post-disaster response coordinated by the Danantara Indonesia Investment Management Agency (BPI) together with state-owned enterprises, in order to provide decent housing for the affected communities.

The Danantara Housing Program aims to meet the government's target of providing 15,000 housing units for disaster victims in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. This initiative is a manifestation of the state's presence in post-disaster recovery through safe, decent, and dignified housing.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that BNI is playing an active role in the construction of temporary housing in Aceh Tamiang. "BNI is contributing to the construction of Danantara Housing in Aceh Tamiang. Of the total 600 housing units in the first phase, BNI participated in around 20 percent or 120 housing units, as part of the synergy of state-owned enterprises under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia," said Okki in a written statement.

The handover ceremony was attended by Danantara Indonesia's Managing Director of Stakeholder Management, Rohan Hafas, marking the readiness of the housing units for immediate occupancy by residents who lost their homes due to the disaster. Also present were representatives of the state-owned enterprises involved, including the Area Head of BNI Aceh and surrounding areas.

Previously, the readiness of Danantara Housing in Aceh Tamiang was reviewed directly by Prabowo Subianto together with Danantara Indonesia's leadership, including Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani, Danantara COO Dony Oskaria, and Managing Director of Stakeholder Management Rohan Hafas, on Thursday (1/1/2026). The inspection was also attended by leaders of related state-owned enterprises, including BNI Information Technology Director Toto Prasetio.

Danantara Housing is equipped with supporting facilities such as playground, WiFi network, prayer room, public facilities, and adequate sanitation facilities to support the basic needs and comfort of residents. The construction was carried out through a collaboration between state-owned enterprises, coordinated by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as the implementing coordinator, located on Jalan Banda Aceh–Medan, Kebun Tanjung Seumantoh, Karang Baru Sub-Regency, Aceh Tamiang.

Going forward, BNI affirms its commitment to continue providing assistance throughout the stages of post-disaster development and recovery, in order to ensure that rehabilitation is integrated, sustainable, and has a real impact on the affected communities.Further information about BNI's humanitarian activities and social programs can be accessed through BNI's official website (www.bni.co.id), which is part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem (www.danantaraindonesia.co.id).
