BNI and Unpad Strengthen Strategic Partnership, Fostering an Adaptive Educational Ecosystem

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, continues to strengthen its strategic partnership with Padjadjaran University (Unpad) through collaboration in the areas of banking services, digital transformation, the development of the educational ecosystem, and support for students and alumni.

This partnership has evolved in response to the increasingly complex needs of educational institutions—not only in managing transactions and finances, but also in supporting the activities of the academic community, fostering student development, and strengthening ties with the alumni community.

The Chancellor of Padjadjaran University, Prof. Arief Sjamsulaksan Kartasasmita, expressed his appreciation for BNI’s contributions in supporting Unpad’s various needs and activities.

“I’d like to express my gratitude to BNI for the significant contributions and cooperation they have provided us across various areas,” said Arief.

The partnership between BNI and Unpad has been further strengthened through the development of a Campus Financial Ecosystem. In 2021, both institutions held a kick-off event and signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering the Three Pillars of Higher Education and the provision of banking services.

As the collaboration evolved, it came to encompass a range of services, including the "Fleksi" financing scheme for Master’s and Doctoral studies, the issuance of the Unpad Alumni Association card, e-Collection services, and an affinity card.

In terms of institutional financial management, BNI supports Unpad through its BNIdirect cash management service, the collection of Single Tuition Fees (UKT) via Virtual Accounts, and various other digital transaction solutions.

The adoption of the National Open API Payment Standard (SNAP), QRIS, and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) also paves the way for the development of increasingly integrated transaction services for universities, students, and the academic community.

The collaboration between BNI and Unpad has also expanded to include fund management through the BNI-AM Teakwood Fixed-Income Mutual Fund—Unpad Idaman Class, offered by BNI Asset Management.

Additionally, BNI supports the development of Unpad’s endowment fund through a donation platform using wondr by BNI, as well as various Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) programs in accordance with the scope of the partnership.

The partnership also extends to the alumni community through a collaboration with the Padjadjaran University Alumni Association (IKA Unpad), including the management of the organization’s bank accounts and the IKA Unpad Affinity Credit Card.

This partnership was further strengthened through BNI’s support for the Jatinangor Music Fest, organized by IKA Unpad as part of the Homecoming Festival celebrating the 69th anniversary of Padjadjaran University.

The event, which took place on Saturday (19/9/2026) at Unpad’s Lapangan Merah in Jatinangor, Sumedang, West Java, served as a gathering place for students, alumni, and the community, while also fostering broader interaction between BNI and the wider Unpad community.

Through this event, BNI provided a variety of digital transaction services and payment support for visitors and tenants as part of its efforts to bring banking services closer to campus community activities.

Arief hopes that the partnership between Unpad and BNI will continue to grow and provide ever-wider benefits, particularly in supporting the education sector as it continues to adapt to the changing times.

“I hope BNI will become stronger, further establish itself as one of Indonesia’s flagship banks, and continue to make a meaningful contribution to education,” said Arief.

For BNI, universities are key partners in human resource development, digital transformation, and expanding access to financial services. Therefore, the collaboration with Unpad will continue to be focused on addressing the institution’s needs while supporting students, faculty, and alumni.

As a state-owned enterprise within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem, BNI continues to strengthen its collaboration with various strategic institutions, including universities, as part of the company’s transformation and its support for improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources.

In line with BNI’s eight-decade journey and the spirit of Swadharma Bhakti Nagara, the company will continue to develop banking services, digital innovations, and partnerships that support educational advancement and benefit the public.
