BNI Retains Highest Rating for GCG Implementation for Two Consecutive Years

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has once again received the "Leadership in Corporate Governance" award at the 17th IICD Corporate Governance Awards 2026. This achievement marks BNI’s success in maintaining the highest distinction in these corporate governance awards for two consecutive years.

Previously, in 2025, BNI elevated its achievement from the 'Best Overall' category to 'Leadership in Corporate Governance.' Successfully maintaining this recognition in 2026 reflects the company's consistency in strengthening the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG).

At an event organized by the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD) on Monday (10/12/2026) at the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta, BNI was also included in the list of the 'Top 50 Big-Cap Publicly Listed Companies'.

BNI also recorded the best position in governance implementation within the KBMI 4 group, reinforcing the company's consistency in upholding GCG (Good Corporate Governance) standards among banks with the largest core capital in Indonesia.

The IICD assessment is based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) methodology, which evaluates various aspects of corporate governance in publicly listed companies, including information disclosure, the responsibilities of corporate officers, sustainability, and the protection of shareholders' rights.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the award serves as an impetus for BNI to continue upholding the quality of its governance across all business processes and decision-making.

"For BNI, corporate governance is not merely a matter of regulatory compliance; it serves as the foundation for maintaining the trust of shareholders, customers, and all stakeholders. We continue to strengthen the implementation of sound governance principles to ensure that every business decision is executed responsibly and supports the company’s sustainability," said Okki in a written statement.

According to Okki, the implementation of GCG (Good Corporate Governance) is becoming increasingly important amidst the dynamics of the financial industry, which demand more robust risk management, oversight, and information disclosure.

Therefore, BNI continues to promote the consistent application of prudential principles, risk management, and integrity across all levels of the organization, with the aim of maintaining the quality of corporate management while supporting business transformation.

Strengthening governance is also part of BNI’s efforts to safeguard its business fundamentals and build healthy, sustainable long-term growth.

As a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem, BNI continues to strengthen its governance, risk management, and business discipline, in line with the transformation agenda for state-owned enterprises—an initiative aimed at fostering healthier, more competitive companies capable of delivering sustainable performance.

As it enters its eighth decade, BNI remains committed to continuously raising its governance standards in line with the evolving expectations of shareholders, customers, regulators, and other stakeholders.

This step is part of the company’s efforts to maintain trust while strengthening its contribution to the banking industry and the national economy.
