Jakarta, 1 Juli 2020 --- Credit Card is one non-cash payment instrument that can be used both at online and offline merchants. Each transaction at the merchant will be billed to the customer at the next billing cycle. Customers pay bills in full or at least 5% up to 31 December 2020 of the total bill.
On certain occasions, credit card issuing banks in collaboration with merchants provide various promos such as 0% installment and cashback.
Various facilities offered make credit card one of the most widely used payment instruments for customers to transact.
Previously, customers could choose the signature method or PIN (personal identification number) input to verify payments on the EDC (electronic data capture) machine. Starting today, 1 July 2020, Bank Indonesia requires all credit card holders including BNI Credit Cards to use PINs for transactions.
This was explained by BNI’s Consumer Business Director, Corina Leyla Karnalies in Jakarta, Wednesday (1 July 2020).
"The use of a PIN in every credit card transaction can increase transaction security and convenience. For customers who have not activated their credit card transaction PIN, can send SMS to 3346 with the format: RPIN [space] 16 digits Main Card Number [space] Date of Birth of the Main Card Holder (ddmmyyyy). After getting a reply SMS from 3346 which contains a 6 digit PIN on your credit card, immediately change the PIN through the BNI ATM machine," Corina said.
For security, Corina also urges customers to make periodic PIN changes. If you experience problems, customers can contact BNI Call at number 1500046 which is standby 24 hours.
