BNI Provides Rp 1.8 Trillion Intraday Facility to KPEI

Jakarta, Monday (31/10/2022) -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI supports the implementation of securities transactions in Indonesia through the provision of intraday facilities to the Indonesian Securities Guarantee Clearing House (KPEI) worth Rp 1.8 trillion.

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement for Intraday Settlement Facility was signed by KPEI President Director Iding Pardi and BNI Institutional Banking Director Sis Apik Wijayanto and attended by KPEI Director Antonius Herman Azwar and Head of Institutional Banking Division 2 Efrizal at Grha BNI Sudirman, Monday (31/10/2022)

Intraday facility is a financing facility provided by the payment bank, in this case BNI, to KPEI, to support continuous settlement in the exchange transaction settlement process.

This intraday facility aims to fulfill the right to receive money of clearing members who have completed all their securities delivery obligations, so that the fulfillment of the rights, especially money, of clearing members can be faster without waiting for delivery obligations from other clearing members.

Sis Apik conveyed that this collaboration is also a sign that BNI as one of the state-owned banks plays a role in making a positive contribution to the world of capital markets. This is also one of the company's strategies to create a better financial ecosystem in the capital market.

"Of course we appreciate KPEI for giving BNI the opportunity to continue to contribute to the preservation and development of the capital market in Indonesia. Definitely, BNI and KPEI will continue to work together to improve business synergy between banking and the Indonesian capital market," he said.

Iding said the role and function of KPEI is as a Central Counterparty in the Indonesian capital market which has the main task of ensuring the smooth settlement process of stock exchange transactions with a concept called continous settlement.

With this facility, he also believes that KPEI's duties will be better especially in the midst of increasing investment interest from new domestic investors.

"Indeed, we are also grateful to BNI for continuing to support KPEI in ensuring the smooth settlement process of stock exchange transactions. Hopefully this will be a positive sentiment for investors to continue to increase their confidence in the Indonesian capital market," he concluded. (*)
