Raffi Nagita Congratulates Indonesia Masters 2023 Champion, Gives Appreciation to BNI

Jakarta, Sunday (5/2/2023) -- Indonesia should be proud because the men's singles and men's doubles standings triumphed in the Indonesia Masters 2023 event. This shows that the country's athletes have the talent to compete in the global arena.

Jonatan Christie finally holds the title of Indonesia Master 2023 champion after winning the final duel against Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. Hence, the runner-up position is held by Chico.

This is his first title at the BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament. Previously, Jojo, Jonatan's nickname, had pocketed three Super 300 titles (New Zealand Open 2022, Australian Open 2022, and Swiss Open 2022).

At the same time, men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin successfully held the Indonesia Masters 2023 championship after defeating Chinese representatives He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong in the final. This is the second Super 500 title they have won since pairing up in the men's doubles sector. Previously, they won their first Super 500 title at the Singapore Open 202.

Related to this, Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina are also proud of the success of these proud Indonesian athletes. They congratulated the winners. "Congratulations to all of you, you are all awesome," said Gigi, Nagita's nickname.

Raffi also appreciated PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI, which is fully committed to supporting Indonesian athletes together with the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI).
"Congratulations to the champions, BNI is the best, for supporting our favorite athletes, making Indonesia proud," he said.

Raffi admitted that he wanted to return to actively playing badminton after seeing Jojo and Chico's success as champions and runners up of the Indonesia Masters 2023. Not only that, Raffi also showed off his racket which was signed by badminton player Kevin Sanjaya.

"I want to learn (playing) badminton. This is Kevin Sanjaya's signature (while showing his racket). This is the racket used when he won, indeed the racket is different, very light. I want to be a champion like Jojo and Chico who won and ranner-up at the Indonesia Masters," he said.

Gigi is no less eager to show off her talent in badminton. She claimed to be able to play badminton well when she was still in school. "I used to be good at badminton, when I was in school, I think I should play badminton again," she said.

In the meantime, BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said, so far BNI's support for badminton has been shown by becoming PBSI's main partner. Support is provided for the education and development of athletes and infrastructure in order to create more young athletes who excel in the world arena.

Okki added, in the future BNI is committed to continuing to support the development and coaching of badminton carried out by PBSI to continue to carve out the next historic world achievements.

"We are also very grateful that BNI has been given the opportunity to continue to contribute to the development of badminton in Indonesia, which has always recorded global achievements," said Okki.

The list of Indonesia Masters 2023 champions are men's singles Jonatan Christie (Indonesia), women's singles An Se-young (South Korea), men's doubles Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin (Indonesia), women's doubles Liu Sheng Shu/Zhang Shu Xian (China), and mixed doubles Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping (China).
