BNI Strengthens Public Housing Financing, Encouraging Modern Housing Ecosystem in Central Java

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to public housing financing through the Socialization of the Housing Credit Program (KPP) and the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) held at the MAC Ballroom in Semarang. This activity is part of BNI's efforts to strengthen its role as a strategic partner for the government in providing decent and affordable housing for low-income communities (MBR).

The event was attended by Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, BP Tapera, Bank Jateng, and BNI Institutional Director Eko Setyo Nugroho. A total of 1,000 participants from developer associations, contractors, building supply chains, and MSMEs participated, demonstrating the strong enthusiasm for the housing sector in Central Java.

BNI's Director of Institutional Affairs, Eko Setyo Nugroho, emphasized the importance of the housing sector in improving public welfare and driving economic growth. "The housing sector plays a strategic role in national development. A home is not just a place to live, but a foundation for community well-being and productivity," Eko said in a written statement.

He explained that the KPP distributes loans through two schemes: Housing Supply Credit for developers and housing sector businesses, and Housing Demand Credit for low-income communities. These schemes are implemented in accordance with the latest regulations, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Regulation No. 13/2025, PKP Regulation No. 13/2025, and Finance Minister Regulation No. 65/2025 concerning ecosystem management and interest subsidies.

Eko stated that Central Java is a priority area for BNI in distributing KPP and FLPP, given the province's significant potential, with a population of over 37 million and stable economic growth of around 5% per year. The growth of industrial areas in Kendal, Batang, Tegal, Solo Raya, and Purwokerto has increased demand for decent and affordable housing.

"Our data shows that Central Java is among the three provinces with the highest distribution of FLPP KPR Sejahtera mortgages in Indonesia. This reflects the community's enthusiasm for homeownership and strong support from the local government," he added.

In addition to expanding access to financing, the KPP and FLPP programs are considered to create a multiplier economic effect, particularly in terms of workforce absorption, strengthening the supply chain, and empowering MSMEs providing building materials and construction services.

As part of its digital transformation, BNI also introduced wondr by BNI, a banking service platform that makes it easier for customers to apply for housing financing, monitor installments, and conduct transactions quickly, safely, and efficiently.

Eko emphasized that BNI's commitment to supporting the realization of decent housing is part of the national mutual cooperation to achieve the target of building three million homes.

"For us, this program is not just about funding, but a concrete manifestation of social justice and prosperity. We are optimistic that the target of building three million homes can be achieved and provide sustainable economic and social benefits," he concluded.

Through collaboration between the government, financial institutions, industry players, and MSMEs, BNI continues to strengthen the modern housing financing ecosystem that is inclusive, sustainable, and able to meet the needs of the community in Central Java and throughout Indonesia.
