PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI presents three fostered partners at the Puspa Nuswantara 2026 exhibition held at the Jakarta Convention Center on 8–12 July, 2026. This step is part of BNI's support for batik preservation, strengthening MSMEs, and developing the national creative economy.
Puspa Nuswantara 2026 carries the theme " Rupa Makna Tambal Nusantara - The Appearance and Meaning of the Archipelago Patchwork" as a symbol of diversity, strength, and hope. The exhibition also carries the tagline "Authentic Batik, Authentic Prices, and Authentic Craftsmen" to strengthen the position of authentic Indonesian batik and bring artisans closer to the community.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the participation of BNI's fostered partners in Puspa Nuswantara is the company's effort to expand promotional access and open wider market opportunities for local batik and craft MSMEs.
"Through our participation in Puspa Nuswantara, BNI aims to introduce our fostered batik artisans to the public and Indonesian batik enthusiasts. We also aim to expand collaboration opportunities so that our fostered MSMEs' superior products can reach a wider market," Okki said in a written statement.
Of the three partners presented, two operate in the batik sector: Kampoeng Laweyan and Rumah BUMN Wonogiri. Their presence reflects BNI's commitment to supporting cultural preservation while strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesian batik MSMEs.
Okki explained that Batik Kampoeng Laweyan was chosen because it is a pioneer in the eco-batik industry. This business has switched to using palm oil-based wax in its production process.
This innovation is supported by Trisakti University's CECT and the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). The use of palm oil-based wax offers an alternative to conventional chemical waxes, making the batik production process safer, cleaner, and more environmentally friendly.
In addition to Kampoeng Laweyan, BNI also presents Kalimasada batik from Purwantoro, Wonogiri. This batik is characterized by a "crumble" or crack-like pattern in the wax, with a yellow-brown or sogan base color.
To complement the range of Indonesian craft products, BNI also features Borneo Queen, a Palangkaraya-based micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) that produces jewelry made from Kalimantan-style stones and brass plates. Products on display include brooches, necklaces, rings, and other accessories inspired by Kalimantan's flora and fauna.
Visitors can find a variety of batik and jewelry collections created by local artisans at the BNI MSME booth during the Puspa Nuswantara 2026 event.
According to Okki, participation in this exhibition not only aims to introduce the superior products of fostered partners but also opens up opportunities for collaboration with various parties, both institutions and individuals. The exhibition also serves as a learning platform for MSMEs to improve product quality, from developing designs, motifs, packaging, and marketing strategies.
In line with the spirit of serving wholeheartedly, BNI carries out this role as part of the synergy of BUMN under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia in strengthening the productive sector, including the culture-based creative industry which is one of Indonesia's economic strengths.
BNI believes that Puspa Nuswantara is not only a promotional and transaction platform, but also a space to appreciate Indonesia's superior products. In line with the momentum of its 80th anniversary, themed "Swadharma Bhakti Nagara," BNI continues to support its fostered MSMEs to develop, preserve the nation's cultural heritage, and enhance the competitiveness of local products.
Through participation in Puspa Nuswantara 2026, BNI hopes that artisans and fostered partners will be further encouraged to innovate, create added value, and expand their market reach. This support is part of BNI's commitment to strengthening creative MSMEs so they can compete nationally and in the broader market.
