BNI Helps Mamuju Earthquake Victims

Jakarta, 15 January 2021 -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI deeply grieves and condolences for the death toll in the earthquake disaster in Majene-Mamuju. In the first phase, we provided disaster management assistance, by distributing humanitarian aid to the earthquake disaster area of Mamuju, West Sulawesi and its surroundings. The aid that is channeled through the Task Force for State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in Mamuju is expected to ease the burden on the victims.

The humanitarian aid began to be distributed on Friday, 15 January 2021. The aid was delivered in the form of emergency needs such as fast food to blankets. This time the earthquake was centered in Majene, but the impact of the damage was quite large in Mamuju.

Furthermore, BNI also contributed to establishing posts and public kitchens with the BUMN Task Force to help people who wish to conduct banking transactions and distribute CSR aid or the Mamuju earthquake natural disaster.

In relation to banking service operations, BNI’s Corporate Secretary, Mucharom said that in Jakarta, Mamuju Branch Office (which is in the middle of Mamuju) cannot operate. However, two Sub-Branch Offices (KCP) under the coordination of KC Mamuju are still operating, namely KCP Topoyo and KCP Pasangkayu.
The company is trying to accelerate the recovery of its office network and digital banking services that were affected by the disaster in Mamuju City.

"For now, 1 BNI Mamuju branch office and 11 BNI ATMs are not functioning because there are still problems with electricity and communication networks due to the Mamuju earthquake. Meanwhile, 12 BNI ATMs in Mamuju City can be used by the public for banking transactions. If the communication network returns to normal, then all of our E-channel services will function automatically again," he said.
