Dengan semakin berkembangnya Perusahaan, maka rentang kendali antara Direksi dengan para pelaksana kegiatan di seluruh unit organisasi Perusahaan akan semakin lebar dan kompleks. Oleh karena itu, dipandang perlu adanya internal audit yang merupakan penghubung antara keduanya, terutama bagi Direksi, agar dapat meyakini bahwa penyelenggaraan kegiatan operasional telah berjalan secara efisien dan efektif. Internal Audit berperan dalam mengevaluasi kecukupan dan efektivitas pengendalian intern yang dilakukan manajemen.
