Strengthening Campus Financial Ecosystem, BNI Together with Iluni UI Provide Honor Cards

Jakarta, 17 March 2022 -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk. or BNI together with the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (Iluni UI) launched the Iluni UI card for alumni. This is part of BNI's efforts as a campus bank in strengthening the Campus Financial Ecosystem. As for, BNI and Iluni UI have collaborated in several ways, including UI Half Marathon Activities, UI Connect Development, Iluni UI Credit Card Issuance, Iluni UI Member Card Issuance and Edupreneur development.

This time, Iluni UI gave appreciation to non-alumni who have worked together all this time by holding the "University of Indonesia Iluni Honorary Alumni Award" which aims to give honorary degrees to figures who always support the University of Indonesia.

In this event, the BNI Iluni UI Membership Card was symbolically presented by BNI’s Institutional Relations Director, Sis Apik, along with several honorary alumni who received the award, including Saleh Husin (Chairman of MWA UI/Former Minister of Industry), Wiku Bakti Bawono (Member of MWA UI/Head of the Covid Task Force Expert Team, Noni Sri Ayati Purnomo (MWA UI member/owner of Blue Bird Group), and Erick Thohir (Minister of SOEs).

This Membership Card is a Debit Card that has 3 functions (combo card), including as a University of Indonesia alumni identification card, as a debit card, as well as as an electronic money card/Tapcash. The requirement to have this card is very easy, just by showing proof of UI alumni through UI Connect application, alumni can open a membership card wherever they are without having to come to the UI Alumni office to get endorsement as UI alumni.

The UI Connect application is an application that can be a liaison between UI alumni and aims to strengthen the bond between alumni. In the near future, the UI Connect application will revitalize towards UI Connect generation 2.0 with more complete digitization features including cooperating with BNI in developing Virtual Cards for alumni members, and this is in line with BNI's dream of realizing a Campus Financial Ecosystem.

Sis Apik Wijayanto said that BNI has been at these campuses in Indonesia since the 60s, so it is often referred to as the Campus Bank. In fact, BNI has collaborated a lot with UI and Iluni UI to create a Campus Financial Ecosystem, including through the Issuance of Multi-Function Cards for ILUNI UI members, UI Card Credit Cards, BNI AM Makara Mutual Fund Products Investment for UI Endowment Funds, UI Connect Program as a platform that connecting UI alumni in Indonesia and overseas.

"This collaboration is one of the goals of BNI and UI in launching BNI UI Iluni Membership Card as a form of consistent support for the Campus Financial Ecosystem as well as opening more and strengthening productive relationships among alumni. We hope that in the future there will be more activities as well as collaborations that can be realized among alumni in order to increase opportunities for better economic growth," he said.

ILUNI UI Gives Honorary Member Title

On this occasion, ILUNI UI awarded the title of Honorary Member of Iluni UI to four national figures, namely Erick Thohir, Saleh Husin, Wiku Bakti Bawono Adisasmito, and Noni Sri Ayati Purnomo. This inauguration event is in line with the Iluni UI Articles of Association and is a form of appreciation to these figures for the contributions they have made to UI and Iluni UI.

"The title of ILUNI UI Honorary Member is a form of appreciation to the figures who have been instrumental in various activities as part of the Iluni Gathering Results," said the General Chairperson of Iluni UI, Andre Rahadian in his remarks at the awarding event for the Honorary Membership of ILUNI UI at Grand Sahid Jaya, Jakarta, Thursday (17/3/2022).

Andre said these four figures have made a big contribution to the UI academic community, UI alumni, and the community according to their respective roles and fields. Saleh Husin as Chair of MWA UI is considered capable of bridging UI, Iluni UI, and external parties, as well as providing solutions in every hearing initiated by UI and Iluni UI.

In fact, Erick Thohir as the Minister of SOEs has contributed greatly, one of which is through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of SOEs and UI which includes research collaboration, as well as downstreaming findings or potential innovations to support the performance of SOEs. Besides Erick, Noni Purnomo is also an Honorary Member of ILUNI UI who is considered to have inspired through his leadership and support for the construction of facilities in several faculties at UI, as well as support for Iluni UI activities.

Furthermore, the contribution to UI and society is also shown by Prof. Wiku’s role as spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force who helps in eradicating hoaxes related to COVID-19 in the community.

Andre hopes that the awarding of the title of Honorary Member of the Iluni UI will strengthen the relationship with the figures, as well as provide greater benefits for UI academics and UI alumni, especially in the midst of a pandemic situation from the threat of polarization. In addition, it is hoped that this award will have an impact on the progress of the nation and state through the vision of national cohesion initiated by Iluni UI.

"It is hoped that the presence of the figures as Honorary Members of Iluni UI will contribute to encouraging unity between the nation's elements, as well as contributing to Indonesia's rise after the pandemic. Iluni UI is ready to collaborate with various parties in the future," said Andre. (*)
