Exploring Turkish Market, BNI Recruits MSME Fostered Partners

Istanbul, 5 June 2022 -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), Tbk. or BNI (stock code: BBNI) continues its efforts to encourage more MSME products to penetrate the global market, especially in Turkey. BNI also enlivened the Turkish Senggol Market Festival by bringing 50 types of MSME fostered partners’ products.

Meanwhile, Senggol Market is an Indonesian economic and cultural festival in Turkey. This festival was formed and held as real evidence of the Indonesian diaspora who have businesses and can survive during the pandemic.

BNI Corporate Secretary Mucharom said Turkey is Indonesia's trading partner country whose trade value increases linearly every year.

Citing data from the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, the total trade between Indonesia and Turkey in 2021 was recorded at US$ 2.01 billion, with Indonesia as a net exporter with a surplus of US$ 1.2 billion. Turkey's economic growth in 2021 is still able to be at 11%.

"We also welcome this festival, which was initiated by a group of students and Indonesian diaspora in Turkey. The Ministry of SOEs and BNI hope that they will not only optimize market potential but also contribute to increasing economic cooperation that has been very good so far," he said.

Mucharom said that as a bank that has a mandate to go global, BNI sends at least 50 types of the best MSME products of BNI fostered partners.

According to him, these products can attract business people;s attention as well as Indonesian and Turkish consumers so that further cooperation can be made.

"With the assistance of the Indonesian Consulate General, we have also received a link and match program so that we can focus more on preparing goods that enter the Turkish market," he said.

BNI's fostered MSME brands include the Xpora MSME category, namely Bali Wirama with the Home and Garden Decoration category, which so far has 100% of its products exported to Europe and Faber Instruments Indonesia in the Musical Instruments and Wood Homedecor business, such as Wooden Radio, Shoehorn, Wall Clock, Wooden Flashdisk and others whose products are starting to be noticed by foreign consumers because of their uniqueness with the characteristics of Indonesian wood.

In addition to that, to treat the love of Diaspora in Turkey, BNI SOE House also participated in bringing Culinary products from Sleman SOE House, namely Telaga Rasa. Telaga Rasa is an MSME that produces Indonesian herbal drinks in Instant form which has succeeded in penetrating retail outlets in Indonesia and has BPOM, and BNI SOE House brings processed snack products from Tegal SOE House, namely NM Food, which is the flagship snack product of BNI SOE House.
