BNI Wins 4 Alpha Southeast Asia Awards

Jakarta, 8 September 2022 -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI (stock code: BBNI) wins four awards from Alpha Southeast Asia for the best performance in providing superior treasury and international banking products to customers.

The four awards are The Best Corporate Treasury Sales and Structuring Team, The Best FX Bank for Structured Hedging Solutions and Proprietary Trading Ideas by Alpha Southeast Asia, The Best Trade Finance Bank in Indonesia, and The Best Remittances Service Provider in Indonesia

This prestigious award was handed over by Alpha Southeast Asia CEO Siddiq Bazarwala to BNI Treasury General Manager Rini Yuniar, and BNI International Division Vice President Ida Bagus Wid Dwipayana, in Jakarta, Thursday (8/9/2022).

On a separate occasion, BNI Corporate & International Banking Director Silvano Rumantir appreciated Alpha Southeast Asia for the award that had been bestowed upon BNI. The Best Corporate Treasury Sales and Structuring Team award, The Best FX Bank for Structured Hedging Solutions and Proprietary Trading Ideas by Alpha Southeast Asia are also achievements that BNI has successfully maintained for 4 consecutive years.

According to him, the trust from customers in BNI is a spirit for the company to be able to continue to provide the best service in order to provide added value for the needs of hedging solutions.

“This award is a form of customer trust in BNI's hedging solutions. We will continue to develop treasury services to meet the growing needs of each customer," he said.

Silvano continued, derivative transactions grew significantly in the last two years as a hedging solution in the midst of exchange rate volatility and the trend of rising interest rates. Interest Rate Swap (IRS) products are the main choice in the midst of this rising interest rate trend, followed by Cross Currency Swap (CCS) transactions which are a hedging solution that can protect exchange rate and interest rate risks.

In the midst of the digitalization era, BNI innovated by launching the BNI FX product as a means of customer foreign exchange transactions. In fact, the launch of BNI FX helped increase BNI's forex transaction volume growth by 48% yearly YoY.

The breadth of BNI's treasury business coverage has contributed to the company's financial performance, especially in increasing BNI's fee-based income. Fee based income from treasury transactions has been recorded to have contributed significantly to BNI's total fee based income in the first semester of 2022.

Furthermore, Silvano said, The Best Trade Finance in Indonesia award is an achievement that has been maintained for the last 16 years. BNI also excels in international remittance services so that it won the Best Remittances Service Provider in Indonesia category for the 12th time.

"BNI's success in winning this award cannot be separated from its innovations by following a competitive and customer-oriented market," he said.

Silvano said that every product prepared by BNI to serve customers in international transactions is supported by the largest branch office network owned by BNI.
In line with BNI's desire to increase digital innovation, BNI also continues to improve remittance systems and services through the Remittance API which is connected to more than 100 remittance company partners spread throughout the world.

“As a global bank, BNI has an extensive network overseas with overseas branches in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, New York, Seoul and Amsterdam. For domestic products and services, treasury, trade finance and remittances can be served at BNI branch offices throughout Indonesia," he explained.
