SOE Minister Erick Thohir Visits Trauma Healing for Cianjur Earthquake Victims

Jakarta, (25/11/2022) -- Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir has again encouraged state-owned companies to collaborate in tackling the impact and recovery of Cianjur Earthquake victims. During a visit to the Medical & Trauma Healing Post in Cianjur, Erick hoped to accelerate the recovery of victims affected by the earthquake.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir showed his empathy for the earthquake victims. He also encouraged the SOE employees who worked together to help the victims.

"I thank you for the hard work, for the trust that is maintained. My presence here is to ensure that we can be at the forefront, we can become one big family, and provide solutions for the community," Erick said in Cianjur, Friday (25/11/2022).

The Trauma Healing is the result of collaboration between PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI together with PT Bio Farma (Persero), PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC, and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero).

In this collaboration, especially Trauma Healing, BNI and KAI provide infrastructure, facilities and infrastructure such as children's toys, playgrounds, and volunteers. Meanwhile, Biofarma and IHC provide medicines, medical personnel and ambulances. The post aims to cure psychological disorders such as anxiety, panic and other disorders due to the earthquake disaster in Cianjur.

BNI Encourages Sharing

In his statement, BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said, the company as a state-owned bank has a responsibility to help people in difficulty. Through the BNI Berbagi program, the company seeks to be proactively involved in directly helping the country, especially in difficult periods such as during earthquake disasters.

"We are sorry for the victims affected by the earthquake. We hope the victims can quickly recover and start rebuilding their homes and lives," he said.

The Trauma Healing Facility is operated at the SOE Joint Command Post in Berenuk Village, Limbangasari Sub-Regency, Cianjur Regency, West Java. There are at least 250 households in the location.

BNI built a trauma healing post by providing a children's playground and conducting trauma healing activities with approximately 100 affected children by organizing educational games, in collaboration with IHC.

In addition, BNI also distributed gifts to children in the form of snacks and dolls. BNI has also previously provided a number of emergency assistance, in the form of rice, sugar, oil, instant noodles, blankets, prayer clothing for female muslim and drilled wells for access to clean water.

BNI has also prepared the distribution of further assistance in the form of mineral water, instant noodles, canned sardines, oil, glass noodles, shredded meat, sanitary napkins, and children's diapers.

"As part of the SOE disaster task force (satgas) with several other SOEs, BNI moved quickly by establishing several posts to help victims who needed medical assistance and as a distribution point for assistance," he concluded.
