Encouraging Global Brands, BNI Indonesian Masters Series Begins

Jakarta, Tuesday (29/11/2022) -- The BNI Indonesian Masters Presented by Tunas Niaga Energi (TNE) will take place from 1-4 December 2022 at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club which has been the host to the tournament for the tenth time.

In December, the BNI Indonesian Masters presented by TNE will be participated by elite golfers from the Asian Tour and the international world, as well as the best home players, who will fight for a total prize pool of USD 1,500,000 or around Rp 23.5 billion (exchange rate Rp 15,700).

This year, the tournament feels more prestigious as the prize pool has increased from USD 750,000 to USD 1,500,000. This is due to the tournament's status as part of the International Series of this season.

The BNI Indonesian Masters series began with the Pro-AM BNI Indonesian Masters 2022 which brought together national amateur golf athletes with international golf professionals at the Jakarta Royale Golf Club, Jakarta, Tuesday (29/11/2022).

In his opening remarks, BNI Corporate and International Banking Director Silvano Rumantir said he was proud of the company's participation in this prestigious sporting event. Moreover, the BNI Indonesian Masters is a long-awaited sport after a two-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It is an honor to be part of the BNI Indonesian Masters. Especially during the pandemic, there are more and more golf lovers in Indonesia, and now is the time to present an interesting spectacle," he said.

Silvano said, BNI's participation as one of the main supporters of this event is to encourage BNI's Go Global branding. Moreover, many local and international partners and investors love to watch this prestigious sport.

Through this event, BNI again socializes the BNI International network which currently has 8 overseas outlets spread across various countries.

"We also want to use this tournament to help promote the fact that we have extensive overseas branches and grow our brand awareness as a global financial institution," he affirmed.

Silvano continued that the Indonesian Masters has high-end fans from the corporate and commercial world, which is BNI's target. In addition to the large number of regional television viewers, this also includes the Indonesian diaspora and expatriates.

"Therefore, we provide tremendous opportunities for companies to connect with our various clients in the global market," he concluded.

The Indonesian Masters as a professional golf tournament for 9 consecutive years has become a good branding in the national sports world.

This year's BNI Indonesian Masters presented by TNE will be attended by previous Indonesian Masters champions such as Lee Westwood (former World No. 1 golfer and Indonesian Masters champion 2011, 2012, and 2015), Bernd Wiesberger (Indonesian Masters champion 2013), Anirban Lahiri (Indonesian Masters champion 2014), Poom Saksansin (BNI Indonesian Masters champion 2016 and 2018), and Jazz Janewattananond (BNI Indonesian Masters champion 2019). In addition, this year's tournament will also be attended by various world golfers including US Open 2010 major champion Graeme McDowell and LIV Golf golfer Chase Koepka.
