Jakarta, Monday (30/1/2023) -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI continues to expand banking services in various regions. This is implemented in the form of cooperation through the Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Utilization of Banking Services and Facilities and Support for the Smart City Program of the Cilegon City Government.
The cooperation was signed directly by BNI Region 14 Leader Faizal Arief Setiawan with Cilegon Mayor Helldy Agustian and witnessed by OJK Deputy Director of Information, Documentation & Consumer Protection Education F.A. Purnama Jaya in Cilegon, Thursday (26/1/2023).
The synergy between BNI and Cilegon City Government focuses on ecosystem development and support for the digitization program in Cilegon City. BNI provides solutions for the Cilegon City Government, including adding payment channels for local tax and levy revenues, providing electronic money (BNI TapCash and QRIS) for the community and local government to increase non-cash transactions or cashless society, and BNI Agen46 to reach all levels of society for the realization of digital financial inclusion with the aim of creating community welfare.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo Budiprabowo disclosed, based on the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) that a Task Force for the Acceleration and Expansion of Regional Digitization (P2DD Task Force) had been formed with the aim of encouraging the acceleration of the implementation of Electronification of Regional Government Transactions (ETPD) and to improve transaction transparency and governance, as well as integrating regional financial management systems.
"BNI is committed to providing integrated solutions, information and communication technology in daily governance for Cilegon City with the aim of increasing efficiency, improving public services, and improving the welfare of citizens," he said on Thursday (26/1/2023).
Okki said, there are six main concepts in Smart City, namely Smart People, Smart Governance, Smart Infrastructure, Smart Environment, Smart Economy, and Smart Society. BNI has been appointed as a banking partner where BNI will provide comprehensive banking services which include banking services and services for the realization of Smart City and empowerment and capacity building of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) towards Go Global with the BNI Xpora program.
In addition, BNI embodies concern for the environment through green banking activities which are summarized in a brand known as BNI Go Green which is an implementation of BNI's support for the Sustainable Development Goals / TB, one of which is implemented through the "Let's Save with Trash Program" which will certainly involve the Cilegon City Government, the community, school students and Bank Sampah.
"Of course this will synergize with the Cilegon City Government program, namely converting waste into briquette / co-firing fuel. Thank you for your support and trust in BNI so that this synergy can be implemented well," he concluded.
