HPN 2023, BNI Committed to Supporting Journalist Competency Improvement

Medan, Thursday (9/2/2022) -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI is committed to being more proactive in assisting programs to improve the competence of journalists. BNI and the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding BNI's support for National Press Day (HPN) 2023.

The MoU was signed by BNI Institutional Banking Director Sis Apik Wijayanto, and PWI Chairman Atal S Depari during the 2023 National Press Day (HPN) Summit. The MoU was witnessed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Medan, North Sumatra, Thursday, 9 February 2023.

This MoU is a form of cooperation between BNI and PWI in an effort to improve the professionalism of journalists and make a positive contribution to the development of journalism in Indonesia.

The scope of this MoU is to increase cooperation in the implementation of journalism education and training, development of professional, scientific, and application fields of journalism, socialization of media literacy programs to improve positive images to the public, and utilization of resources.

BNI believes that the MoU will have a positive impact on the development of the journalist profession while helping the public to obtain comprehensive and balanced information.

BNI Institutional Banking Director Sis Apik Wijayanto said the company was honored to be part of the development of the media industry through the MoU to increase the competence of journalists.

BNI believes that this collaboration will be able to realize a more sustainable journalist profession to support increased literacy as well as optimism for economic growth.

"We thank PWI for the opportunity to work together. Hopefully we can continue to establish good cooperation and make a positive contribution to the development of journalism in Indonesia," Sis Apik said.
