World Badminton Stars and Sheila on 7 Spice up wondr by BNI BrightUp Cup 2024

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) or BNI together with PBSI once again held a badminton competition mixed with musical entertainment through wondr by BNI BrightUp Cup 2024. The event was enlivened by a number of Indonesian badminton athletes who have won various world tournaments and closed with the performance of the legendary band Sheila on 7.

The event, which was held on Sunday (1/12/2024) at the GBK Senayan Basketball Hall, was also attended by Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo and Deputy Minister and former badminton athlete Taufik Hidayat, Chairman of the Central Board of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) Fadil Imran, BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar and a number of BNI Directors and SEVPs.

On this occasion, PBSI Central Board Chairman Fadil Imran expressed his appreciation to BNI for continuing to support sports, especially badminton.

"I would like to thank BNI for their support as the main sponsor," said Fadil in Jakarta on Sunday (1/12/2024).

A number of badminton athletes competed in two teams that were won by Greysia Polii's team. The team consisted of Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Alwi Farhan, Tontowi Ahmad, Rinov Rivaldy, Fajar Alfian, and Jafar Hidayatullah.

While the opposing team, Hendra Setiawan, was teamed with athletes including Gregoria Mariska Tanjung, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, Jeremiah Rambitan, Jonatan Christie, and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

The event, which started at noon, managed to make the audience even more lively with the presence of the legendary band Sheila on 7.

“Sportainment is a good event, not only entertainment but also how to increase public interest in participating in sports and improve badminton achievements in Indonesia outside of match activities,” said Fadil.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said BNI's commitment in supporting the progress of Indonesian badminton will continue.

“Through wondr by BNI BrightUp Cup 2024, it is expected to foster public interest in badminton because we wrap this event with musical entertainment,” Okki said in a press release.

Sheila on 7 successfully closed this activity by singing 7 songs including 1 of their newest songs, Memori Baik. Not to forget, the band from Yogyakarta performed a song that had inspired the start of BNI's transformation through the song Melompat Lebih Tinggi. “This song is our prayer for BNI to continue to jump higher,” said Sheila on 7 vocalist Akhdiyat Duta Modjo or known as Duta.
