BNI Receives 2 Alpha Southeast Asia 2024 Awards through Trade Finance Solutions and Cross Border Transactions

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI received two awards from Alpha Southeast Asia. The two awards are Best Online Trade Facilitation Solution in Indonesia 2024 and Best Cross Border Payment Solution in Indonesia 2024.

These awards were received by BNI's Wholesale Transaction Product & Partnership Division Head I Gede Widya Anantayoga and BNI's Cash Management Digital Channel Department Head Auzaiy at the 18th Annual Transaction Banking Awards 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday (12/2/2025).

Director of Digital and Integrated Transaction Banking BNI Hussein Paolo Kartadjoemena in his official statement said, the awards emphasize BNI's commitment to continue to innovate in providing the best solutions for customers, especially in facilitating easy and efficient trade finance and cross-border transactions.

“At BNI, we strive to build a comprehensive and competitive digital ecosystem, especially in corporate and business transactions that we provide at BNIdirect. Trade finance and cross border transactions are corporate and business banking services with superior market share achievements throughout 2023 and 2024,” said Paolo.

As of September 2024, BNI holds a 14.67% share of trade finance, demonstrating its leadership in the industry. In addition, BNI outperformed many of its competitors with a 19.65% market share in domestic bank guarantees. This achievement places BNI as the fourth largest player in the trade finance sector and second in the bank guarantee sector with total trade finance transaction volume reaching USD 40.4 billion and domestic bank guarantee reaching IDR 18.1 trillion.

In 2024, BNI also presents innovative solutions for cross-border payments, to strengthen its position as a leader in financial services in Indonesia and globally. BNI remittance services are supported by a reliable system, global connections through nine overseas offices, and around 1,000 partners, to accelerate digital payments through Open API. The service is available on the BNIdirect platform, part of BNI's comprehensive digital ecosystem, designed to efficiently meet the needs of corporate and business transactions.

Paolo further explained that BNI cross-border transactions facilitate money transfers, both abroad through Outgoing Transfer (OTR) services and transactions from abroad through Incoming Transfer (ITR) services. OTR services can be accessed by corporate and retail customers through various channels, including wondr by BNI, BNI Mobile Banking, BNIdirect, and branch offices/ counters.

“The trust that has been given by our customers will motivate us to continue to innovate and provide even better services in the future,” Paolo concluded.
