PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI responded quickly to help flood disaster victims around Bekasi, West Java by distributing basic necessities and cleaning equipment.
The assistance provided was in the form of 1,000 basic food packages and biscuits as well as 1,000 cleaning tools such as carbolic acid, soap, brushes and mud-scraping brooms.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) program, BNI contributed and shared with the Bekasi community who needed a helping hand.
"This is a form of BNI's concern for the surrounding community. We are concerned about the disaster that hit the Bekasi area and its surroundings," he said.
Okki said that the assistance was distributed to 10 sub-regencies in Bekasi Regency, including Bojongmangu Sub-regency, Cibarusah Sub-regency, Serang Baru Sub-regency, Cibitung Sub-regency, Setu Sub-regency, South Tambun Sub-regency, North Tambun Sub-regency, North Cikarang Sub-regency, East Cikarang Sub-regency, and Central Cikarang Sub-regency.
Okki said, through the social assistance provided, BNI continues to be committed to implementing the SER (Social and Environmental Responsibility) program which focuses on three main pillars, namely Social, Economic, and Environmental as part of supporting sustainable development and contributing to the country.
"Hopefully this assistance will ease the burden of our brothers and sisters affected by the flood. We hope this problem will be resolved soon and the community will be given health and safety," concluded Okki.
