BNI Prepares IDR 21T Cash for Eid 2025 Period, Banking Services Remain Safe During Holiday Season

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI provides cash of IDR 21 trillion during the Eid period from March 21 to April 3, 2025. This step was taken to ensure that people's needs are met throughout this year's Eid al-Fitr.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the preparation of cash for the Eid 2025 period is in line with the shift in customer behavior to digital. This makes the cash allocation lower than last year as cash withdrawal transactions at ATMs, Cash Recycle Machines (CRM), and branch outlets decrease.

"Although there has been a change in society that is more towards digital, we understand that the need for cash during Eid and long holidays is also quite large compared to normal times, so with the readiness of this cash, customers can meet their needs," said Okki in a press release.

The nominal transaction of BNI mobile banking and wondr by BNI grew by 36.7% in January 2025 compared to the same period last year (year on year/YoY). Meanwhile, the transaction frequency increased by 35.4%. During Eid in March 2024, the nominal digital transaction also grew by 29% compared to January 2025.

"With our integrated services supported by a strong network and increasing digital banking, customers' banking needs will continue to be met," said Okki.

During this year's Eid period, BNI provides an average of 31 branch office outlets in limited operations from March 28 to April 7, 2024. The limited operations of these outlets serve transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and transfers between BNI accounts for a maximum of IDR 25 million, Pertamina fuel deposits, account openings, and other transaction needs including special credit agreements for D-2 before Eid or March 28, 2025.

In addition, there are BNI Mobile Service (O-Branches) located in 16 locations of homecoming route points, tourist attractions, and other strategic locations. Banking needs can also be done through 214 thousand BNI Agen46 spread throughout Indonesia and other channels such as ATMs and CRM, as well as the use of the digital application wondr by BNI whose users have reached 6.4 million by the end of February.

"The allocation of cash at ATMs and branch offices is still dominated by Java Island with cash top-ups initially prepared in big cities such as Jabodetabek, but after D-2 of Eid it will shift to homecoming destination areas," concluded Okki.
