PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has established a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in supporting a cluster-based business partnership ecosystem. The agreement aims to provide banking products and services while strengthening the implementation of the MSME Holding program.
This collaboration was marked by the signing of the Cooperation Agreement which took place in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. In the series of events, the release of fishery product exports to China by PT Satya Trinadi Komira Perkasa was also carried out, which was also witnessed by the MSME Minister Maman Abdurrahman along with the staff and also BNI Board of Directors.
Maman explained that the MSME Holding is a strategic program of the MSMEs Ministry which aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs in terms of economic scale, connectivity, and access to financing and markets. "We want all strategic economic sectors in the country to be able to build a business partnership ecosystem that will not only create added value (value creation), but also expand employment opportunities (job creation) in their business processes," said Maman.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said, through this collaboration BNI provides BNIdirect Cash services that make it easier for MSMEs to access accounts and make transactions online. This service is considered very important in the digitalization era, especially to increase efficiency and transparency of business finances.
"BNI is committed to continuing to support the growth of MSMEs through inclusive and integrated financial services, in line with BNI's mission to encourage the strengthening of the national productive economic sector," Okki said in a written statement.
The MSMEs Ministry will play a role in delivering data on business actors included in priority clusters, as well as providing assistance and supervision. Meanwhile, BNI is tasked with evaluating eligibility and providing banking services in accordance with applicable regulations.
"This program not only creates easy access to banking, but also supports the sustainability of MSME businesses in the long term. BNI will also actively conduct banking socialization and education to business actors," added Okki.
Through this synergy, BNI and the MSMEs Ministry hope to create a connected and sustainable business ecosystem, as well as encourage the formation of resilient and competitive SME clusters. This effort is in line with the government's agenda in strengthening the MSME sector as the backbone of the national economy.
"In the future, we will continue to expand similar collaborations with various stakeholders so that the positive impact on MSMEs is wider and more evenly distributed. This collaboration will be an effective and inspiring model for MSME development in various regions of Indonesia," concluded Okki.
