PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI reaffirms its commitment to supporting the advancement of sports and financial literacy among the younger generation thru the organization of the wondr Futsal Series 2025. This national-scale futsal tournament targeting students and university students has now reached the city of Surabaya, held at the Jawa Post Arena starting Tuesday (29/7/2025).
At the opening of this tournament, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Dardak, CEO of Futsal Series Novel Leonardo, Youth Figure Kaesang Pangarep, Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI) Iwan Jati, representatives from the East Java Provincial Futsal Association (AFP), representatives from the Surabaya City Futsal Association (AFK), Division Head of Marketing Communications BNI Erick Runtu, and Region CEO of BNI Surabaya Maya Agustina were present, all of whom fully supported the tournament.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that BNI's participation in the wondr Futsal Series 2025 is not just about supporting the emergence of young athletes, but also a strategic step to promote digital financial inclusion among students who are known to be active and adaptive to technology.
"In line with the spirit of Accompanying Your Every Step, we hope that the young talents born from the wondr Futsal Series can become part of the future of the Indonesian Futsal National Team, including participating in global events such as the 2045 Futsal World Cup and U-20 FIFA Futsal. BNI is ready to accompany their journey from the very first step," said Okki.
This tournament has reached 13 cities since it started in April 2025, including Tangerang, Serang, Garut, and Cirebon, then continued to Solo, Tegal, Semarang, Klaten, and Timika in May. In June, it will be the turn of Palu, Manado, Makassar, and Jayapura to host. After Surabaya, the competition will continue in 20 other regions until October 2025.
Involving more than 16,000 students from over 1,000 schools and campuses, the wondr Futsal Series has become one of the largest futsal development events in the country. The grand organization is also reflected in the enthusiasm of the audience, which has reached 16 million thru streaming channels.
Not only offering a competition, the wondr Futsal Series 2025 is also equipped with various educational and inspirational digital activations. This program presents motivational content, talk shows, and financial literacy campaigns that are relevant to the needs and challenges of today's youth.
"Through the wondr Futsal Series, we want to create a space where young people can grow, learn from each other, and pursue their dreams, while getting to know inclusive financial services," added Okki.
The final round of this competition is scheduled to take place at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, which will serve as a national stage for the best participants.
With the organization of the wondr Futsal Series 2025, BNI not only strengthens the sports and education ecosystem in Indonesia but also reinforces its role as a financial partner ready to accompany the younger generation in every important phase of their lives.
