BNI Supports the Use of AI to Strengthen SOEs Communication

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, fully supports the initiative of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to strengthen corporate communication functions.

This support is demonstrated thru BNI's participation in the Communication Workshop titled "Communication Transformation Thru AI," organized by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises on August 13-14, 2025, at the Mikie Resort Hotel in Berastagi, North Sumatra.

The event was attended by 94 participants, including corporate communication practitioners, internal ambassadors from state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and regional leaders from various SOE companies.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo believes that utilizing AI in communication strategies is an essential need for state-owned enterprises to effectively, quickly, and accurately deliver public messages.

"With more sophisticated communication strategies, SOE programs can be interpreted more clearly by the public while also strengthening positive perceptions of SOE contributions in various sectors," said Okki in a written statement.

During the technical training session, participants received material from Zando Agency CEO and AICO Community Co-Founder Tommy Teja. The material covered the use of AI to generate creative ideas, create visual content, and write scripts efficiently.

In addition to theory, participants also conducted field practice by visiting a number of strategic SOE assets, including Pertamina Geothermal, Pupuk Indonesia facilities, and SOE-fostered MSMEs such as Artistica Bakery and Gundaling Uis in Berastagi.

This visit provided a real picture of the role of state-owned enterprises in supporting energy and food resilience, as well as strengthening the local economy. Participants were then asked to use AI to create content showcasing the positive contributions of state-owned enterprises to society.

According to Okki, strengthening the capacity of communication human resources will continue to be a sustainable program. Technology, particularly AI, is believed to be an important catalyst in maintaining public trust while ensuring information about SOE contributions is widely disseminated.

"With effective and technology-based communication, SOEs are expected to maintain public trust while ensuring that messages about their tangible contributions are widely and accurately conveyed," concluded Okki.
