PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program consisting of character development for students and international TOEIC certification for 100 English teachers in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). This initiative aims to improve the quality of the region's human resources (HR) to make them more globally competitive.
This program, officially launched on September 1, 2025, at SDN Bangkang, Central Lombok, aligns with the government's Astacita pillar of improving the quality of Indonesian human beings. This program involves 165 teachers and 341 parents from 10 schools in East Lombok (Sembalun) and Central Lombok (Kuta–Pujut).
The program launch event was attended by the Head of Pujut Sub-Regency, H. Jumahir, the Regional Coordinator of the Pujut Sub-Regency Education Office, Lalu Amir Rizal, and the Head of BNI Mataram Branch Office, Richard Dahlan.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that investment in education must start early and involve the entire ecosystem. "We believe that good education must start early, involving the entire ecosystem from schools and teachers to parents," said Okki in a written statement.
This program consists of two main activities. First, the Child Character Development Program, which focuses on strengthening the synergy between schools and families in instilling character values in children. The goal is for children to not only be academically intelligent but also have a strong moral and social foundation.
Secondly, the TOEIC International Certification Program for 100 English teachers throughout West Nusa Tenggara. This globally standardized certification is expected to enhance educators' capacity to deliver more competitive and equitable instruction, meeting international standards.
"We hope this certification can open up wider opportunities for English teachers in NTB, both in improving their skills and in producing students who are ready to face global challenges," Okki continued.
This TJSL program in the education sector is a manifestation of BNI's commitment to continue supporting the development of superior human resources in Indonesia. This program in NTB is expected not only to have a real and sustainable impact on the local community, but also to inspire others to contribute to realizing Indonesian human resources that are characterized and competitive.
