BNI Distributes IDR 40.7 Billion in Housing Program Loans to Support MSMEs and the Real Sector

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to strengthen its support for the housing sector through the Housing Loan Program (KPP) program which targets Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Until the end of October 2025, BNI has distributed financing amounting to IDR 40.7 billion to 41 MSME players, both on the supply and demand sides.

The distribution consists of IDR 28.1 billion for the supply side to seven MSME players, and IDR 12.66 billion for the demand side to 34 MSME players. This achievement is equivalent to 15.2% of the total national KPP distribution, which according to Ministry of PKP data has reached IDR 267 billion to 117 debtors.

BNI Commercial Banking Director Muhammad Iqbal stated that the KPP program was initiated to expand access to financing in the housing sector, while also helping business owners strengthen their competitiveness in the real sector.

"BNI is committed to being a strategic partner for the government in expanding access to financing for business actors in the housing sector, both from the supply and demand side. Through this program, we want to ensure that MSMEs can grow sustainably while contributing to meeting the needs of habitable housing for the community," said Iqbal in a written statement.

He explained that on the supply side, KPP supports developers, contractors and MSMEs in procuring land, building materials and goods and services. Meanwhile, on the demand side, this facility can be used to buy, build or renovate houses or shops that support business activities.

This program, which was officially launched on October 21 2025, has a similar mechanism to People's Business Credit (KUR). MSME players can apply for financing through branch offices or official BNI digital channels. The application process includes analysis, approval and disbursement of funds which is carried out based on prudent banking principles.

In maintaining the quality of financing, BNI implements various risk mitigation measures, including optimizing the housing ecosystem by involving building materials developers, contractors and MSMEs; synergy with local governments and developers to ensure asset legality and business viability; to the use of Risk Acceptance Criteria (RAC) and Credit Scoring System in assessing the character and capacity of prospective debtors. BNI also monitors its credit portfolio periodically to ensure it remains in line with the company's risk profile.

Iqbal added that BNI is optimistic that it can exceed the Housing KUR distribution target of IDR 250 billion by the end of the year, with a portion of IDR 100 billion on the supply side and IDR 150 billion on the demand side. This program is considered to be an innovative solution for micro and small businesses to own a house that can also be used as a place of business.

As an acceleration step, BNI is also strengthening collaboration with local governments and developer associations throughout Indonesia. One form of synergy is the National KPP Socialization activity which was held together with the PUPR Ministry at Sutera Hall, Alam Sutera, Tangerang, on September 26 2025.

"Collaboration across stakeholders is the key to accelerating the realization of the national housing program as well as encouraging real sector growth through empowering MSMEs," stressed Iqbal.

Through the KPP program, BNI not only strengthens the national housing ecosystem, but also encourages inclusive and sustainable economic growth, in line with its commitment as an agent of development that plays an active role in developing the real sector and improving community welfare.
