Consistently Empowering Villages, BNI Wins National Village Day Award 2026

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI received an award from the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT) for its consistency in supporting rural economic empowerment. The award was presented at the peak of the National Village Day 2026 celebration held in Boyolali on Thursday (15/1/2026).

The award was presented directly by the Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, to the Director of Institutions at BNI, Eko Setyo Nugroho, witnessed by thousands of participants consisting of village heads from across Central Java, the Indonesian Village Association, and provincial and regency-level regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

In his speech, Yandri emphasized the importance of cross-sector synergy in promoting sustainable village development. He said that village development cannot be supported by one institution alone, but requires collaboration between the government, the business world, and the community.

“There are 75,266 villages in Indonesia. This cannot be done by one ministry or one sector alone. It requires solidarity, unity, and a shared will to promote rural development,” said Yandri.

BNI received an award for its active role in supporting the village development agenda in line with the 6th Asta Cita, particularly in strengthening the local economy. This contribution was realized through the expansion of inclusive financing access, increased financial literacy, and assistance for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes).

BNI Institutional Director Eko Setyo Nugroho emphasized that the award reinforces the company's commitment to continue contributing to sustainable village development.

Looking ahead, BNI ensures that the development of village empowerment programs will continue as part of the company's role in supporting inclusive, equitable, and fair national development, while strengthening the economic foundation at the village level.
