Implementing Environmentally Friendly Operations, BNI Saves 559,000 Gigajoules of Energy Throughout 2025

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI recorded energy savings of 559,194 Giga Joules (GJ) throughout 2025, in line with strengthening various energy efficiency initiatives and reducing carbon emissions across the company's operations.

This achievement stems from a reduction in electricity consumption, which is part of BNI's strategy to support low-emission operations while increasing energy efficiency.

BNI Deputy President Director Alexandra Askandar said the savings reflect the company's consistency in implementing integrated sustainability programs.

"This reduction in energy consumption reflects BNI's consistency in implementing various energy efficiency programs while supporting efforts to reduce carbon emissions sustainably," Alexandra said in a written statement.

According to her, this achievement also aligns with the strengthening implementation of the green building concept within BNI. Several of the company's operational buildings have even received certification from independent institutions.

The BNI Pejompongan Tower Building received Green Building Gold certification, while the BNI BSD Plaza Building received Green Building Platinum certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia.

In addition, the BNI Building in the PIK 2 area also received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold level certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) in the Building Construction category.

Alexandra went on to say that these numerous recognitions show that the transition to environmentally friendly operations not only improves efficiency, but is also acknowledged nationally and internationally.

"BNI will continue to strengthen the implementation of sustainability principles across all business lines and operations as part of the company's long-term commitment," she stressed.

Going forward, BNI is committed to continuously strengthening sustainability practices, not only through energy efficiency, but also through the development of a sustainable financial ecosystem that can create added value for the environment and society.

These energy savings achievements confirm that the transformation to green operations is not only a strategic agenda, but has also delivered tangible results in increasing efficiency while supporting efforts to reduce carbon emissions sustainably.
