Jakarta, 11 October 2019 --- With a spirit that transcends time and space, BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 2019 now starts from its starting point, BNI Head Office at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jakarta. The spirit of this competition far exceeds the basic goal of running, which is to pursue a fit body, but also intends to make an appropriate contribution to higher education in Indonesia to be more qualified and highly competitive.
Ultra Marathon runners start to explore from zero point to reach the 200th kilometer at ITB Campus, Bandung, around three days two nights (11 – 13 Oktober 2019), and hope to contribute to the best education in one of the oldest universities in Indonesia. For this reason, this competition is labeled BNI ITB Ultra Marathon - Tribute To ITB.
In this year's competition runners get richer experience. Because in addition to following a longer route than last year, the runners were also introduced to Link Aja, a digital payment application that is now being developed by a combination of several SOEs.
BNI ITB Ultra Marathon 2019 is divided into various competition categories, namely Individual 200K, 200K Relay 2, 200K Relay 4, 200K Relay 9, and 200K Relay 18, and 5K Fun Run. This year the total number of participants reached more than 6,000. They were released by the Vice Chancellor of ITB, Wawan Gunawan, the Chairman of Institut Teknology Bandung Alumni Association (IA-ITB), Ridwan Djamaluddin, the Chairman the Solidarity Forever Foundation, Susilo Siswoutomo, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, Arcandra Tahar, the Deputy of Financial Services Business, Survey Services, and Consultant of SOEs Ministry, Gatot Trihargo, the President Director of BNI, Achmad Baiquni, the Institutional Relations Director of BNI, Adi Sulistyowati, and the Board of Directors and Commissioners of BNI. Also present was the senior runner, legend in BNI ITB Ultra Marathon, as well as the Committee Chairman of ITB Ultra Marathon BNI 2019, Gatot Sudariyono.
Susilo Siswoutomo said that the ultra marathon spirit continues to inspire the Solidarity Forever Foundation to raise funds in unusual ways. The ways that represent the spirit of an ultra runner who not only works all out and never gives up, but also does it cheerfully. This event was also a gathering among ITB alumni members, through an activity that could involve and entertain many of them.
"We want to transmit the spirit of a Gatot Sudariyono who runs ultra to do glory, which in this case is to help our beloved ITB alma mater. We want all alumni to do their best in this ultra marathon event. We want all alumni to contribute according to their abilities. Who can run, please run. Those who are able to make donations, let's give our respective donations," he said.
Adi Sulistyowati, who is familiarly called Susi, welcomes at the Grha BNI Building which is the starting point for the ITB Ultra Marathon 200 Km Jakarta - Bandung. This year's implementation is the third time.
"Good physical preparation from afar is very much needed to participate in this marathon. BNI and the committee have also prepared escort and medical team for the convenience and safety of participants. See you at the Finish Line at ITB Ganesha Campus Bandung," said Susi.
