SOEs Present for the Country, Balikpapan’s Turn Touched by Compensation of 3 SOEs

Balikpapan, 23 May 2019 --- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) in collaboration with PT Pindad and PT Dirgantara Indonesia distributed Ramadan Aid 2019 as the part of BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri (BHUN) Program. As the coordinator of BNI BHUN 2019 in Balikpapan, BNI ensures there is not only 1 kind of package but a series of aid package, ranging from Orphan Compensation, Worship Facility Aid, Bazaar, and Koran Aid.

The highlight of the aid packages distribution was centered at Subulus Salam Islamic Boarding School, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Thursday (23 May 2019). Also present at the event, the CEO of BNI Banjarmasin Region, Mohammad Arafat, the Head of Pindad PKBL Bureau, Ami Marlinawati, the Head of Subulus Salam Islamic Boarding School, KH Muhammad Fadli and the caregivers at NK Al Muhibin Islamic Boarding School.

The BHUN program has been implemented since 2015 where BNI is one of the program supporter SOEs initiated by the Minister of SOEs, Rini Soemarno. The essence of the BHUN implementation is to help the community in meeting basic needs so as to improve community welfare. For this reason, in every BHUN implementation, BNI always distributes aid packages with a variety of target recipients.

The Human Capital and Compliance Director of BNI, Endang Hidayatullah mentioned, similar events are held in 4 cities, not only in Balikpapan, but also in Bontang, Tanjung Redeb, and Samarinda. This is a BHUN activity that is centered in Balikpapan.

"Hopefully the sinergy implemented by the three SOEs can provide benefits and blessings for the recipient community," he said.

On this occasion, the Orphans Compensation package distributed by BNI consists of Cash Benefits of Rp. 250,000 per child, plus Natura Compensation of Rp. 100,000 per person. This compensation will be enjoyed by 1,000 orphans, namely in Balikpapan (400 children), Samarinda (200 children), Bontang (200 children), and Tanjung Redeb (200 children).

On the same day, BNI also prepared 1,000 packages distributed through Bazaar. This package will be distributed to people who are less fortunate and have a Program Keluarga Harapan Card (PKH). Data on citizens who are eligible to receive this inexpensive package are obtained from the Social Service, which is also a co-provider of community beneficiary.

BNI also gives attention to the improvement of learning and teaching quality in five Islamic boarding schools, among others Subulus Salam and NK Al Muhibin Islamic Boarding Schools. Along with that, BNI also provided aid as many as 1,000 Koran distributed to various prayer rooms or mosques in Balikpapan (400 Al Quran), Samarinda (200), Bontang (200), and Tanjung Redeb (200). The distribution of the Koran is scheduled on 24 May 2019 simultaneously by BHUN coordinators throughout Indonesia while breaking the MURI record.

100,000 Packages

For BNI, the distribution of compensation and bazaar is part of the 100,000 Hadiah Ramadan Program throughout Indonesia that has been prepared in the spirit of Service during this Holy Month, namely "Let's Fold the Goodness".   

The distribution makes this Holy Month more meaningful, so that the people who receive it can be happy together in the solemn worship.

The 100,000 Hadiah Ramadan Program is implemented in around 68 cities, among others Medan, North Aceh, Langkat, Rokan Hulu, Kampar, Batam, Palembang, East Lampung, Central Lampung, North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, Thousand Islands, Bogor, Tangerang, Pandeglang, Lebak, Karawang, Bekasi, Bandung, Garut, Cirebon, Brebes, Pemalang, Demak, Banyumas, Kebumen, Cilacap, Sumenep, Sampang, Bangkalan, Tuban, Malang, Jember, and Probolinggo.

Similar activities were also carried out in Kutai Kertanegara, Ketapang, Sambas, Bone, Central Maluku, Polewali Mandar, Parigi Moutong, Gorontalo, Donggala, Palopo, Poso, East Lombok, South Central Timor, Central Lombok, Central Lombok, Jayawijaya, Lanny Jaya.   

Goodness is also trying to be spread by BNI for Muslim houses of worship, both mosques and prayer rooms. This program is expected to touch 680 national houses of worship throughout Indonesia.

This program is expected to be able to beautify mosques with new carpets. There will be a clearer chanting of the call to prayer with a new sound system. Worship becomes even more comfortable with new holy books, new praying cloths and sarong.

Through the aid program for mosques, about 17,300 meters of new carpet will be spread over 680 mosques. In addition, BNI provides new Al-Quran, new loudspeakers, and packages of mukena and sarong for praying.
