Maximizing Physical Distancing, BNI Transfers Part of Branch Offices

Jakarta, 24 March 2020 --- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) optimally supports government’s direction to maximize the Physical Distancing program in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19 virus. One of BNI's concrete steps is to shift the services of some offices or outlets in various cities in Indonesia which are located in high-risk places as the spread locations of COVID-19.

The transfer of services is carried out only in 12 regions from 17 of BNI operational areas in Indonesia. The branches chosen for operations are classified as outlets located on campuses or buildings whose occupants 100% Work From Home, markets, malls, airports, hospitals, and ports.

“This program is estimated will be expected to run until March 30, 2020. Nevertheless, BNI ensures that services to customers can still be carried out at the nearest BNI branch offices. Information on BNI branches operating can be accessed at this link https://bni.co.id/id-id/beranda/berita/pengumuman/articleid/6721 ,” said the Network and Services Director of BNI, Adi Sulistyowati who is familiarly called Susi in Jakarta, Tuesday (24 March 2020).

BNI advises customers to immediately activate BNI e-channel services to the maximum, so they can continue to do transactions even at home. Use BNI Mobile Banking which can service many transactions. BNI Call is also ready to assist customers for 24 hours by calling 1500046.

If customers still have to visit BNI branch offices, BNI ensures that it has conducted a series of preventive protection programs to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the branch office areas. The protections among others are checking every person’s body temperature who enters the branch offices, spreading hand sanitizers, spraying disinfectant when the offices are not operating, and there is a prohibition for BNI employees and their families to travel to countries reported to be the location of COVID-19 outbreak.

Disinfectant Spraying

Disinfectant spraying is part of the COVID-19 protocol that has been carried out by BNI since the past week. Previously, similar spraying was carried out in all BNI branch offices throughout Indonesia twice a day, at the BNI Grha Building on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman which is the BNI Head Office, and BNI Menara Pejompongan Building, Jakarta. Disinfectant spraying is also carried out at all BNI ATMs.

“Other preventive measures we do is asking employees who experience symptoms approaching fever, runny nose, cough, and shortness of breath to see a doctor. We release them from duty to check themselves, and then work at home," concluded Susi.
