BNI Continues Free Swab Test to Denpasar and Bandung

Jakarta, 11 July 2020 --- State-owned enterprises (SOEs) continue to support Task Force for of Covid-19 Handling Acceleration in uniting the strength in uniting the power to withstand the spread of corona virus outbreak in Indonesia. One of the programs undertaken is to carry out free swab tests in the areas exposed to quite high outbreaks in Indonesia, such as those implemented by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI.

BNI successfully held free mass swab tests in Jakarta on 20-21 May,2020, in Padang on 2 June,2020, in Palembang City on 7-8 June 2020, Sidoarjo City - East Java on 24-25 June and then in Yogyakarta 27-28 June 2020. This time it is the turn of the people of Denpasar and Bandung City to get a free swipe test from BNI.

In Denpasar, free swab test was held at Bali Mandara Regional Hospital, Saturday, (11 July 2020). On the occasion, BNI cooperated with Bali Provincial Government to provide 1,500 free swabs. On the same occasion BNI also provided donation in the form of a set of PCR machine that was used to help accelerate the process of diagnosing swab results submitted to the Health Office of Bali Provincial Government.

Present at the free test swab were the Head of Bali Provincial Health Office, I Wayan Widia, the Director of Bali Mandara Hospital, Dr. Gede Bagus Darmayasa, the COVID-19 SOE Handling Task Force, Agung Wijaya, as well as the Director of Treasury and International of BNI, Putrama Wahju Setyawan.

This step is part of the program to create SOEs that are free from corona virus, #CovidSafeBUMN, and one of a series of BNI Berbagi programs that provides 30,000 free swab tests for people throughout Indonesia. In addition, the provision of the test was also part of a series of BNI’s 74th birthday celebrations, which fell on 5 July 2020.

The Director of Treasury and International of BNI, Putrama Wahju Setyawan said,“This is the continuation of our steps to help accelerate the detection of patients exposed to Covid-19 in Denpasar and surrounding areas. With the support of various parties, we carried out this free swab test for the public, medical personnel, and BNI partners. "On this occasion, we also provided assistance in the form of PPE Package for Bali Mandara Regional Hospital medical personnel," he said.

The Director of RSUD Bali Mandara conveyed that this activity is one of the real contributions of Bali Mandara Regional Hospital as Covid-19 Referral Hospital in handling Covid-19 spread with BNI. "I am on behalf of the Director of Bali Mandara Hospital along with the hospital staff of Bali Mandara Hospital thank you for organizing this event, hoping that this mass swab test can detect early and reduce the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia, especially in Denpasar city," he said.

The free swab testing is completed with epidemiological monitoring and case follow-up, in collaboration with Bali Mandara Hospital. The results will be reported directly to patients through the cell phone number that was registered at the time of registration. So this is very confidential and is an important part in increasing the speed of handling corona positive cases.

During this pandemic period, the CSR aid that BNI has provided was the corona outbreak disaster emergency response assistance in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE) to referral hospitals spread across Bali and 20,000 food packages to the people of Denpasar affected by Covid-19 totaling Rp 2 billion.

         

Bandung City Hall

Meanwhile, free Swab Test in Bandung was held at Bandung City Hall, on the same day. On the occasion, BNI collaborated with Citra Arafiq Hospital to provide 500 free swabs.

Present at that event were the Major of Bandung, Oded Muhammad Danial/the Deputy Major, Yana Mulyana (invitee), the Chairperson of Covid-19 Task Force, Lussy A Seba (invitee), the Head of West Java Provincial Health Office, Berli Hamdani (invitee), the Head of Health Office of Bandung Municipality, Rita Verita Sri Hasniarty (invitee), and the Head of BNI Bandung Region, Efrizal.

Efrizal said, "This program is the continuation of BNI’s step to BNI help accelerate the detection of patients exposed to Covid-19 in Bandung and surrounding areas. With the support of various parties, we carried out this free swab test for the public, medical personnel and BNI partners. On this occasion we also provided assistance in the form of 590 PPE Packages to the Health Offic for medical personnel".

The free swab test is completed with Epidemiology monitoring and case follow-up in collaboration with Citra Arafiq Hospital and the results are reported directly to patients through the registered cellphone at the time of registration.

During this pandemic, the CSR assistance that BNI provided was in the form of a pandemic corona outbreak emergency response in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE) to referral hospitals in East Java and a total of 8,588 food packages to the West Java community affected by Covid for a total value ± Rp. 2 Billion. 

In the activity, both in Denpasar and Bandung, it was seen the public interest in the free swab test. The Covid-19 health protocol was implemented in this activity, from temperature checking and hand washing on participant arrival, initial registration, application of physical distancing in the queue seats, spraying disinfectants on site, to other operations to completion. Medical personnel who serve the swab test also wore complete PPE.
