Amid the Pandemic, Exports Remain Easy

Jakarta, 16 July 2020 --- Amidst the pandemic that has caused instability in the world’s economy and Indonesia, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) continues to assist the efforts to grow international trade, especially in boosting exports. BNI uses global value chain through the use of BNI's overseas branch network of correspondence and services spread across various countries. This has a positive impact on BNI's international business revenues, which until Semester I/2020 grew by 16.8%.

One of the things that BNI is working on is the global value chain for fishery product exports. During Semester I/2020, the transaction volume of fishery export commodities reached Rp 2.6 trillion or grew 10.34% compared to the same period last year.

This fishery export success story is illustrated by one of BNI's customers whose export transactions is helped amid the pandemic, namely PT Satya Trinadi Komira Perkasa. This company was able to book a growth in transaction volume during Semester I 2020 of 25.04%. This frozen fish exporter markets its products to China and Taiwan, which during the pandemic imposed strict policies, especially in transactional, logistical and banking services.

China and Taiwan are two countries located within the business area of BNI Hong Kong Branch Office and supported by Business Representative Officer located in Taiwan. PT Satya Trinadi Komira Perkasa is one of many Indonesian Related Business who obtains  BNI banking services.

While companies from Indonesia that export to Japan, get maximum service from BNI Tokyo Branch Office. One of them is PT Perikanan Nusantara (Persero). This SOE has utilized the existence of BNI's overseas network to transact with their buyers. Thanks to BNI Tokyo, the process of receiving fish export payments has become easier.

Likewise in other parts of the world, BNI New York Branch Office also provides financing facilities to Crystal Cove, who is a buyer of KELOLA Group, which is a BNI debtor in Surabaya.   

 

BNI Trade Online

Not only that, BNI strives to improve services to exporter customers with BNI Trade Online (BTO) feature integrated with BNI web-based digital banking platform. The availability of BNI Trade Online services provide flexibility to customers to be able to more easily submit processes related to Trade Finance transaction instruments, ranging from Letters of Credit (L/C), Domestic Letters of Credit (SKBDN), up to Guarantees that can be easily accessed anywhere and anytime. BTO can be utilized through any electronic device connected to the internet.

“Our experience by accessing BNI digital service application, the features are very easy to be used, able to minimize transaction processing time and facilitate us in monitoring the transaction status. This is in accordance with BNI's commitment to customers who become One Stop Banking Solution," said Edwin Juliantio, the Finance Manager of PT Binuang Mitra Bersama Block II, a company engaged in minerals and mining export.
