BNI Wins First Place in the Gratification Control Unit (UPG) from KPK

Jakarta, 16 December 2020 --- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI received an award from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as Rank I of Gratification Control Unit (UPG) Category for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN)/Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD).

The award was received by the Director of Human Capital and Compliance of BNI, Bob Tyasika Ananta at Gedung Merah Putih KPK, Jakarta, Wednesday (16 December 2020) at the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia). The Hakordia commemoration was opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and attended by the Chairman of KPK, Firli Bahuri.

Bob conveyed, the award to the best UPG is a form of appreciation from KPK to institutions that are obedient in implementing the Gratification Control Program. There are several components of assessment, including first, Administrative Aspects, namely the rules for controlling gratuities and policies for the formation of UPG. Second, quality of the implementation of the Gratification Control Program which includes the implementation of outreach activities, identification of vulnerable areas, technical guidance, dissemination of anti-gratification content, and innovation of UPG activities. Third, implementation results which include reports on gratuities and their management by the UPG. Bob also said that this award is a moment for BNI to continue on improving the quality of the implementation of BUMN AKHLAK Core Values which became the behavioral guidelines for SOEs personnel.

The assessment is based on the activity period from January 2019 to September 2020. The awards are divided into three categories, namely Ministries/Institutions, Local Governments, and SOEs/ ROEs. Based on the results of verification and assessment of these data, KPK then determined the top 5 finalists in each category to then proceed with online presentation and judging stage on 3 December 2020.

Hakordia is celebrated on December 9 every year. KPK reminds us that the existence of Hakordia does not mean that there is one day free of corrupt behavior, but a moment to remember, appreciate the initiatives, and the work that has been done in one corruption eradication movement. In 2020, the summit celebration of Hakordia was held on 16 December. The event of #Hakordia2020 summit celebration was filled with the re-launching of the National Corruption Eradication Strategy (Stranas PK) together with the Ministry of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Presidential Staff Office. In addition, the Award Granting of LHKPN Reporting & Gratuity as well as Anti-Corruption Art Performance.
