Jakarta, 15 January 2021 -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI won the trust to become the custodian service provider to manage the assets of PT Taspen (Persero). This collaboration will strengthen the synergy of the two state-owned enterprises (SOEs), so that it can provide added value to the two state-owned companies. Previously, BNI and Taspen had worked together in terms of pension payments which are still running well to date.
The Signing Ceremony of the Custodian Cooperation Agreement took place at the Taspen Building, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, Friday (15 January 2020). Present on the occasion, BNI’s Institutional Relations Director, Sis Apik Wijayanto and Taspen’s Finance Director, Patar Sitanggang.
Sis Apik in his speech revealed, BNI's Asset Under Custody (AUC) as of December 2020 reached IDR 270.5 trillion with total customers reaching more than 200 institutions. When compared to the end of 2019, BNI’s AUC has grown 9% from the AUC in 2019 which was recorded at IDR 247 trillion, with the addition of new customers in 2020 as many as 35 new customers.
"This is both a belief and an achievement for BNI. We are still trusted to serve custodian transactions for both existing and new custome. Plus today, BNI has won the trust of Taspen to serve the needs of custodian transactions. BNI is committed to providing the best service for Taspen and hopes that this collaboration can improve the business of both parties," he said.
Collaborating with Taspen Life
In addition to the signing of the Custodian Cooperation Agreement, on this occasion a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between BNI and Taspen Life regarding Cooperation in the Provision of Credit Life Insurance Products and the Provision of Banking Services. PT Asuransi Jiwa Taspen or Taspen Life is a subsidiary company of Taspen which is engaged in life insurance.
This Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Sis Apik Wijayanto and Taspen Life’s President Director, Ansar Arifin. With this Memorandum of Understanding, it is hoped that mutually beneficial cooperation can be established between the two parties, especially in terms of providing insurance coverage for BNI consumer credit debtors.
"By the signing the Cooperation Agreement and the MoU, it is expected that this will be the first step to continue to improve cooperative relations. Hopefully this collaboration can reflect Trustworthy, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive and Collaborative behavior among state-owned companies that share the same core values, namely AKHLAK," said Sis Apik.
