Boosting Social Assistance, BNI Encourages Realization of Withdrawal of Funds

Jakarta, 23 August 2021 -- Government continues to boost the distribution of various social assistances as one of the cushions and social safety nets in order to suppress the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy, especially for the lower class. For this reason, the government, in this case the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia together with the social assistance fund channeling bank or Bansos, calls on recipients who have received the funds to immediately withdraw the money and use it. One of the channeling banks that called for an immediate withdrawal of the social assistance funds is PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI.

In Jakarta, Monday (23 Augusts 2021), the Corporate Secretary of BNI, Mucharom said, his party received a mandate from the government, in this case the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, to distribute social assistance. To date, BNI has been assigned to distribute the Basic Food Program to 5.8 million of Beneficiary Families (KPM) with a total fund of Rp 10.21 trillion. BNI was also assigned to distribute the Family Hope Program Social Assistance (PKH) to 4.1 million KPM with a total fund of Rp 7.29 trillion. KPM recipients of the assistance are spread across 108 cities and regencies.

"We express our gratitude for the government’s attention, especially Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, who continues to monitor the process of distributing and disbursing Social Assistance, both PKH and Sembako program, which are currently being accelerated," said Mucharom.

In his opinion, until now there are indeed some KPM that have not been able to disburse assistance funds, one of which is because the account is blocked. The reasons for blocking the account were, among other things, because the KPM did not come to pick up the card when there was a distribution activity at the local village office. Another reason is that KPM did not withdraw their funds or spend their social assistance within three months or 90 days from the time the Social Assistance funds were distributed.

For this reason, BNI urges all KPM recipients of social assistance to attend the distribution of Prosperous Family Cards (KKS) which are regulated by Regional Governments and local Social Agencies, in collaboration with Himbara Bank. Then, after receiving the KKS card, the KPM are asked to withdraw or spend all Social Assistance that has been entered into their respective accounts or wallets. This applies both to Basic Food Program which has entered 9 (nine) stages and or PKH Social Assistance Program which has entered 3 (three) stages.

Withdrawals can be made at e-warong, Agen46, or BNI ATMs spread throughout Indonesia. BNI has prepared more than 51,000 Agen46 of social assistance distributors and more than 17 thousand ATM machines that can be used as the place for social assistance transactions by KPM.

“We, together with the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and all Social Agencies in regencies and cities continue to make efforts to accelerate disbursement so that all Social Assistance funds can be immediately received by Beneficiary Families (KPM), along with all the accessories, including KKS," concluded Mucharom.
