BNI Tokyo was established as a Representative Office on 1 December 1959.

In 1969, the status of BNI's Representative Office was upgraded to a Branch Office.

BNI Tokyo carries the mission of bridging Indonesia and Japan, as reflected in its role as a liaison, especially for small and medium scale Japanese companies investing in Indonesia.

BNI Tokyo products consist of Remittance Service, Savings, Investment Loan, Working Capital Loan, Trade Finance and Treasury products.

Although the Indonesian community in Japan is spread over a very wide area, while the BNI branch is only in Tokyo, BNI Tokyo can take advantage of banking technology advancements so that customers who will make transactions to Indonesia can make their transactions through local banks (no need to come to BNI office).

BNI Tokyo has a remittance service for sending money to Indonesia, called Remittance Card. This product has advantages, including: Easy (could send money through ATM of partnership Bank), Fast (could be received within same day), Secure (a reliable state-owned Bank), Competitive Pricing (JPY 1.000 costs for any amount and no hidden cost).
