BNI Encourages People’s Business Credit’s Growth

Jakarta, 22 May 2021 -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI (stock code: BBNI) continues the progressive growth of people's business credit (KUR) this year. This is in line with the trend of economic recovery, as well as BNI's strategy to support the performance of MSME debtor partners. BNI KUR credit balance as of April 2022 has reached Rp47.6 trillion with an increase of 28.9% yoy.

BNI Institutional Relations Director Sis Apik Wijayanto said BNI is a government KUR channeling agent that is proactive in seeking new economic growth potential in the MSME segment.

In fact, BNI is trusted by the government to get an additional KUR allocation of up to IDR 38 trillion per 2022. This value is up 22.7% compared to 2021, which was Rp 30.95 trillion.

"Our efforts are to maintain the growth momentum of BNI's MSME segment. Of course, this trend will continue to be maintained so that it can help more MSME players to be able to improve their performance this year," he said.

Sis said the company has 3 main strategies that BNI uses to support boosting KUR performance this year.

First, BNI encourages distribution of cluster-based KUR, one of which is by focusing on working on the potential of the regional agricultural sector. Second, BNI increases financing to corporate debtor partners through a value chain scheme.

"Finally we use credit digitization tools as well as collaboration with strategic partners to support the optimization of MSME big data which ultimately accelerates distribution while improving credit quality," he said.
