Strong in GCG, BNI Again Won IICD Award

Jakarta, 28 May 2021 -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI (stock code: BBNI) was awarded The Best State Owned Enterprises and was included in the Top 50 Big Cap Public Listed Companies category from the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD).

This achievement will be a benchmark for the company to be more aggressive in improving the implementation of good corporate governance (GCG) as well as long-term business stability.

The 13th CG Award 2022 was attended by Chairman of the National Committee on Governance Policy (KNKG) Mardiasmo, Chairman of IICD & IIPG Sigit Pramono, IICD Board of Trustees and CG Expert James Simanjuntak, and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2009-2014 period Boediono. At the event, Deputy President Director of BNI Adi Sulistyowati was present in person to receive the award.

BNI Corporate Secretary Mucharom said that BNI has the same spirit as IICD, namely improving corporate governance standards and practices and increasing the attractiveness of global investment to public companies with good governance.

"We appreciate IICD for the award. Of course, we will continue to improve our efforts in improving GCG implementation as our commitment to implementing good corporate governance," he said.

The Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD) is a GCG assessor in Indonesia that assesses Tbk companies in Indonesia for the implementation of GCG based on ACGS standards.

IICD conducts an assessment based on the Information Disclosure made by a Public Company. The higher the quality of the publication, the better the company will be assessed. The publications in question include website information, annual reports, information submitted through reports, and others.

The assessment is carried out based on the Asean Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS), which are parameters that are internationally believed to provide best practice standards for public companies in ASEAN.
Mucharom continued that the implementation of GCG has proven to have a positive impact on the implementation of healthy business operations, excellent service, and solutions for customers.

BNI also continues to receive appreciation from all stockholders who continue to make BBNI's share price increase amidst the trend of strengthening the capital market in Indonesia.

"With the implementation of good GCG, we as one of the big banks in Indonesia become a reference for other banks in Indonesia who have managed to get through the pandemic very well," he said.
