Surpassing Limits, BNI-fostered MSMEs Jump Higher at Inacraft 2023

Jakarta, Saturday 4 March 2023 -- Running a business is not easy, especially for someone who has limitations. However, Widi Nugraha believes that everyone should have the same opportunity and everyone is capable of jumping high to reach their goals.

"I believe anyone can be a successful person and jump higher, without exception," says Widi, who works as a batik artisan.

Widi markets her products at Widi Nugraha's Ngawi Batik Fossil SOE House. The batik cloths that Widi sells are very unique, with ancient human-shaped motifs that are well-sold in Ngawi.

Apart from being a batik cloth craftsman, Widi Nugraha also offers ready-to-wear clothing where the patterns and sewing process are done by people with disabilities. Widi believes that everyone has the same opportunity to succeed.

In creating batik, Widi Nugraha is inspired by the beauty of nature and history, so the batik cloth he produces is filled with foliage patterns and images of ancient humans. "The ancient motif was inspired by the discovery of ancient human sites in Trinil," said Widi.

Widi is one of dozens of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that appreciate PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI, in this case the SOE House, which is always innovative in providing solutions for business development.

As a state-owned enterprise (BUMN), BNI is strongly committed to supporting government programs in assisting and improving the quality of MSMEs with the aim of contributing to improving the economic welfare of the community.

The support provided by BNI to MSMEs is in line with the direction of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi, who also launched the National Movement "Proud to be Made in Indonesia" or BBI as a form of support for Indonesian MSMEs. BNI also expressed support for MSMEs by being involved in Inacraft 2023 which has the theme "From Smart Village to Global Market". In this event BNI was present through a program entitled BNI Xpora.

Inacraft is the largest craft exhibition in Indonesia that accommodates crafters throughout Indonesia. The event is held from 1-5 March 2023. On a previous occasion, BNI Deputy President Director Adi Sulistyowati said the MSME segment grew very well in 2022 and is expected to continue to grow this year.

BNI continues to encourage the holding of national exhibitions, especially on a global scale to support MSME players to improve the quality of their products and export them to foreign countries. "We are very proud to contribute to Jakarta Inacraft 2023. We believe that this event can be an accelerator for better economic growth at the beginning of this year," she said.

Adi Sulistyowati, who is familiarly known as Susi, continued, the MSME players included have quality products and have proven to be able to penetrate world quality standards. Each of the BNI-fostered MSME players has a very interesting background and is able to become a model for MSME players to remain enthusiastic in working to Jump Higher domestically and in foreign markets.
