(22/7/2024) - JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI through the Xpora program established a strategic partnership with PT Reska Multi Usaha (KAI Services) in an effort to expand market access for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Through this collaboration, SME products will be more easily accessible to the wider community, especially in terms of providing snack products at KAI onboard services.
This cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was taking place at Plataran Kinandari Hotel Jakarta on July 2, 2024. The MoU was signed by BNI Division Head Retail Productive Banking M. Safri Hidayat and Pymt. President Director of PT Reska Multi Usaha Lies Permana Lestari. This historic moment coincided with the anniversary of PT Reska Multi Usaha and BNI which fell in July.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo in his statement said, through this MoU BNI Xpora will assist PT KAI Services to provide SMEs from the snacks product category, connect selected SMEs for business matching with PT KAI Services so that selected products will be provided onboard trains for Java and Sumatra coverage.
“We are very enthusiastic about this collaboration. Through this synergy, we hope to make a real contribution in empowering SMEs and supporting national economic growth,” said Okki.
As part of this initiative, BNI Xpora has curated 11 SMEs with the best snack products to be introduced to PT KAI Services. After going through a business matching process and sending samples for food testing, 5 SMEs were selected whose products will be available in KAI onboard services.
This step not only provides wider sales opportunities for SMEs, but also introduces quality local products to train passengers. This collaboration between BNI Xpora and KAI Services is also expected to have a significant positive impact on the empowerment of Indonesian SMEs.
By expanding market access, SMEs can increase their product sales and expand their distribution reach. Furthermore, this collaboration is likely to generate new business opportunities for both parties, as well as increase public appreciation for local products.
With the same spirit, BNI Xpora and KAI Services continue to be committed to supporting Indonesian SMEs, providing greater opportunities, and bringing local products to a broader stage. “This collaboration is a real step in realizing the vision of sustainable and inclusive SME empowerment,” said Okki.
Pymt. President Director of PT Reska Multi Usaha Lies Permana Lestari added that the production of SMEs is currently extremely good. The range of flavors and appealing packaging distinguishes the products sold on the train.
“With this collaboration, train passengers will be able to buy snack products from BNI-fostered SMEs that have export quality on the train. The variety of types, good taste, and good packaging will certainly provide economic benefits for these SME activists. This is also a tangible manifestation of our support for local products, especially from leading SMEs,” Lies explained.
For the early stage, BNI SME snack orders are estimated to reach around 120 thousand per month. This number is quite promising and there is still an opportunity to increase the volume, depending on customer enthusiasm and train passenger conditions.
