Supporting Disability Works, BNI Head Office Displays Paintings of 7 Young Visual Artists

PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BNI) presents the paintings of young Indonesian artists in the lobby of BNI Head Office at Jl Sudirman, Jakarta. A total of 3 people with disabilities contributed charming works to be used as designs for BNI Calendar and Agenda Book 2025.

Also present were BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar along with the Board of Directors and SEVPs in the activity entitled Sky is The Limit Exhibition which was held on Thursday (19/12/2024).

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said, the theme “Sky is the Limit” is a spirit that encourages someone to dare to exceed limits in achieving goals.

“The 7 selected young visual artists represent the spirit of “Sky is the Limit” in realizing their aspirations. They overcome limitations with hard work to achieve their goals,” Okki said in a press release.

The works were applied into various forms such as books, totebags, pouches, t-shirts and thumblers. The artists' work results are also displayed in the visual design of BNI Agenda and Calendar 2025 Edition material intended for all BNI employees, stakeholders and loyal customers and debtors.

According to Okki, this exhibition brings the spirit of inclusivity by providing an open space regardless of one's differences and conditions. Xyla Ardhia Fiorina, a wheelchair-bound visual artist, is one of the three disabled artists displaying her artwork.

“Xyla is active in making music and crochet works. Her work has received recognition including 10 Best Works ASEAN Digital Mural Competition 2023 and Merit Award Asia Student Package Design Competition 2022,” said Okki.

Besides Xyla, M. Ihsan Nabil Budi is also a deaf visual artist who has an extraordinary passion in developing his potential. He joined the Creative Business of Diffable Community (CIDCO) to broaden his business horizons and network, while honing his skills. “Nabil has created the brand “Abil_Canvas” which serves as an umbrella for his various creative products, including canvas paintings, cycling jackets, tumblers, pouches and headscarves,” said Okki.

Apart from that, BNI also provided an opportunity for Muhammad Fauzan, a talented young visual artist who overcomes his hearing impairment to make artworks. Since he was 19 years old, Fauzan has collected more than 10 works that were declared champions. “Witnessed by millions of pairs of eyes in Indonesia, Muhammad Fauzan was named the National Achievement of Youth with Disabilities 2021,” said Okki.

In addition to the 3 disabled artists who displayed their works, 4 other young artists also participated in the exhibition, including Vedran Morelio, Djayanti Aprilia, Michael Yan Davis and Hananingsih Widhiasri. The design process for the 2025 Edition of the BNI Agenda and Calendar also involved curator Hastarjo B. Wibowo.

“We really appreciate their works which are expected to be an encouragement for young people to continue to be enthusiastic towards the new year 2025,” Okki concluded.
