PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI proves its commitment as a strategic partner of the government in managing the state treasury. Thanks to its consistency in supporting accurate and credible financial governance, BNI was awarded as the Best Operational Bank of the Year 2024 for the SOE Bank category from the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) RI.
This award was received directly by BNI Deputy President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan, in a series of signing of the State Cash Management Cooperation Agreement which took place at the A.A. Maramis Building, Jakarta, Thursday (23/1/2025).
“We express our deepest appreciation for the trust of the DJPb Ministry of Finance. This award is a tangible manifestation of BNI's commitment to continue to support the management of the state treasury and the implementation of a more accurate and credible State Budget (APBN),” Putrama said.
The event was attended by 103 institutions, consisting of 89 commercial banks such as BNI and 23 BPDs, 14 non-bank financial institutions, and other perception institutions. As one of the banks appointed by DJPb, BNI plays a strategic role in channeling state budget funds while managing state revenue deposits through various payment channels.
Throughout 2024, BNI channeled IDR644.7 trillion of state budget funds through the State Treasury and Budget System (SPAN) of Ministries / Institutions with the right time, amount and target. In addition, BNI supports state revenue as a Perception Bank by providing various payment channels, such as BNIdirect, ATM, EDC, Agent46, wondr by BNI, QRIS, BNI Mobile Banking, and branch office networks at home and abroad.
"As a state-owned bank with the widest international network, BNI also supports the optimization of state revenues through the Third Generation State Revenue Module (MPN G3), including for deposits in foreign currency," added Putrama.
In the meantime, Director General of Treasury Astera Primanto Bhakti in his speech emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and banking in managing the APBN. According to him, good financial governance can only be achieved through synergy between various parties, including operational banks such as BNI.
Throughout 2024, there were more than 100 million state revenue transactions (NTPN). Meanwhile, the number of state expenditure transactions (SP2D) reached more than 5.6 million documents for all state spending distributed.
"We cannot work alone in managing the State Budget. This cooperation is an important element to ensure that the distribution of funds and state revenues run with good governance," Astera explained.
