BNI's Five Strategies in Facing Challenges in 2025

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is optimistic about opening a new page in 2025 by maintaining sustainable performance growth. Increasing third party funds (DPK) and low-cost fund transactions is one of the main focuses this year.

BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said, banking liquidity challenges need to be anticipated with a measured business strategy to maintain BNI's performance growth this year.

“The challenges ahead from global uncertainty will cause pressure on the rupiah exchange rate and liquidity. BNI has prepared a number of strategies to face these challenges, one of which is by increasing low-cost funds through digital banking expansion,” Royke said in a press release on Thursday (2/1/2024).

Royke said, there are five main focuses that BNI must optimize this year including Branch Office Transformation, Human Capital Transformation or increasing employee productivity, DPK growth, especially savings from transactions, strengthening the digital ecosystem in increasing CASA and fee-based income, and continuing to improve credit quality.

“High collaboration is needed to achieve this goal,” said Royke.

BNI continues to strive to improve bank performance in a sustainable manner and support national economic growth. Royke said that the company's 2025 strategic plan will be in line with national development goals and shareholder aspirations, including improving performance through strategic customer centric efforts, especially the Corporate and Consumer segments, selectively increasing international networks, and increasing green financing.

Furthermore, this year's key focus is on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness through digitizing business processes, including the use of mobile banking. “Through wondr by BNI and BNIdirect and the entire BNI digital ecosystem, it is hoped that it will encourage CASA and transaction growth, so that it can support future performance,” he said.
